Did anyone considered that the planet orbiting the ... err.. planet might be a piece of this puzzle?

I was thinking the exact same thing after reading this, even took a screenshot of it. I know it says main continent, but who knows.

The same combinations DO seem to be working for all or at least, most people. It does seem to be a little slow on the uptake at times, though.

I have finally managed to get all of the data I was missing (that has been found by others) after several relogs.

Further confusing matters is that some data sets have more than one combination to be unlocked. And this seems consistent.

Im up to 12 sets of data now.

It's a bit weird - the first successful scan was "7/20" (I didn't know if that meant item no. 7, or 7th of 20 items found thus far). I assumed it was item no. 7, since it was my first and I just received 1m credits. But then on my second successful scan it was "8/20".

If it's 8 of 20 items scanned, then what were the first 6?!? Items I scanned weeks ago when the ruins were first discovered perhaps?

This is gonna be a Spreadsheet Nightmare :D

The whole thing is like a Nonogram and the Relics beings used are the triangles that keep switching around lol

I haven't read the past few pages yet. But are we sure the same combinations work for everyone? Or is there a chance there a some variations going on here?

I think they are random. Ive got 8/21 language with Urn + Tablet at totally different obelisk as CMDRs reported in mr Volgrand's table.

This relic thing seems very broken - twice now on scan it has given me adjudiction server errors on scan and kicked me out of game - even though I can then instantly reconnect...
I had the same problem a while back, and it was my ping. Check your ping and make sure you don't have a lot of no-replies (I used bbc.co.uk as recommended on FDev Support pages).
I had a lot of no-replies on my 2.4GHz network and got the adjudication server disconnects frequently. I changed to the 5GHz network, which showed no ping issues and haven't seen the adjudication issue since.
So, this particular error seems to be directly linked to answer-reply speed between us and the server. Since several people are seeing it since the update, it may be caused by server load atm, and may clear when people "calm down" ;)

PS: Sorry for the OT

This was my progress today, will finish it tomorrow. Hope it helps!

Well, looking at that it seems we will luckily get 20 or 25 data packets from this ruins. And seeing all the numbers are on the mid range between 1 and 20, I think we are missing some "first" ruins and some "third" ruins. We will have to carefully study the data to see if we can get more clues off them.

Good job CMDR!

how are you guys getting all these data packets, me and my pal have been at the site now for 3 hours, every scan we have done (approx 7 different obelisks) either says it not the right combination or it says i have data but nothing shows up in my coms panel.

getting extremely frustrated [mad][sulk]

That's unclear at the moment; NuGundam posted a solution to a relic that didn't work for me, but I got the same data that he got despite it being from a different obelisk. I had to use an entirely different solution on the obelisk that he posted.

Well, it has taken me:
-X Men: Days of the future past
-Depictable me 2
-5 episodes of "The Expanse"

But finally, Finally! I'm back into the bubble! I'll be joining the research efforts tomorrow :D

(God bless Open VR desktop display portal for making it possible to watch movies... inside my cabin)

Ah, thank you. Too bad I can't use 5GHz since it has more trouble getting through floors and walls, and I'm on the edge of my wireless connection as is. I'll keep this in mind for the future, though.

Thanks. And i dare to say that we get less than 20.

There is still some question as to the exact combinations in unlocking the obelisks, but have we seen any cases where an obelisk gives multiple messages? In other words, is there continuity in what the obelisk yields? Different commanders have used different combinations to unlock the same obelisk, but do they always receive the same message? Has any obelisk given more than one message?

I have a feeling that if an Obelisk requires (say) Orb, then it'll succeed if you have an Orb and something else. That's probably what's confusing things, someone has Orb & Urn, another has Relic & Orb; but they both succeeded since they both had an Orb.

I did notice when I was at the Ruins before, at the right time the orbiting moon lines up very well with the largest circular mound,
If you were to drive up the slope as you see on the right and stop about half way down the path before reaching the circular mounds centre,
the orbiting moon will slowly position directly above it, it caught my attention because the mound, the three metallic structures, and the moon at that time look the correct size to be a possible alignment.

I did wonder there could be something at the ruins that can only be done or seen at a certain time.
