Alien archeology and other mysteries: Thread 9 - The Canonn

Not sure if this is of any interest.

On the right and lower side of the "compound" the walls appear to have collapsed. With the large metal barriers lying flat.

Not sure what to make of it, no atmosphere = no wind?

Erosion?

The lower one seems much more pronounced. And assuming the metal parts were spaced evenly seems like it might have moved quite a way from its original position.

No collapse metal barriers elsewhere, just right lower side.

Meteor impacts, stellar winds, plate tectonics. Dust storm and/or quake from a large impact.

Further to my point about the ground ejecting items, I just came across a totem that was about 5-10m away from the boulder pile so it was not being kept in place by the boulders. I'm also getting very suspicious of the glowing ground under the boulders - it reacts to your presence irrespective of whether there is an item there or not.

I'm also noticing that whenever I'm near the glowing ground, my SRV fuel seems to go down quite fast. Donning my very best tinfoil hat, is it possible that the items are being used as lures to get us to come close so that our SRV energy can be siphoned away? Part of me hopes this is true, the other part of me is a bit concerned about the implications of what I'm currently driving over...

Quick favour to ask, I was checking systems in the pleiades and pleione a system I know I have visited came up as unexplored with no system data. Can people who have visited the system check to see if this is the same for them and its not a case of me getting killed before selling exploration data.

If this is a common issue it suggests fdev may have altered something in pleione and as such makes it worth further investigation

I came across this post & thought I'd take a look, trouble is I can't remember if I've been there :D . There is a Capital ship floating around though...

I can't shake vibes that this was some kind of wormhole generator. I have literally nothing to back that up with but it feels like some kind of test centre to me.

Raxxla then? :p
And actually, this place looks like a research place. This was not a living area, thats for sure.
Temple? Laboratory? Because ... you know, it cant be just a puzzle place generated for us :p

Temple? Laboratory? For sure not a house area...

I mean... it being Raxxla is as possible as anything else, right? I mean, it is supposedly in-game somewhere.

I trying to solve The Jupiter's Beacon Mystery, but stuck. Lave and Eravates transmissions is nonogram. Unfortunately, this transmissions have many errors.

When I first arrived at the site I did get a bit of a Promethius vibe, like it was some out of the way research station/laboratory and we really shouldn't be poking around...

Speaking of firing lasers at the site, I did submit a bug report the other day, hitting any of the metallic structures at the site with a beam laser does give an awesome swirly effect that also cripples your framerate (hence the bug rpt).

Would be kind of funny given that people complained about the only way we had to interact with the Barnacles was to shoot them, so FD designed a puzzle where the solution is to shoot it :)

I'm kind of expecting that to happen now, too. Like the first time around I think people were really being crackheads to suggest the UP diagram was a map of that site in the UK, but now I think it makes perfect sense to explore that, because FDEV has seen that we're looking at that kind of thing.
I think a LOT of the crazy tinfoil-woo ideas from the UA UP days are suddenly possible for that reason. Especially if they're British-related, Cthuluhu Mythos related, loach related, etc.

ps i have no idea what a loach would have to do with it.

All of these discarded. A meteor impact would have left a way larger crater, also some marks, not just collapsing the wall down. Stellar winds are radiation, able to affect molecules and life, but no inorganic structures. That moon is too small to have plates (also some vulcanism is possible). Due to the lack of atmosphere, any winds / storms are also discarded.

Indeed. Maybe some kind of Alien race created them to move through stars... but it is saddly, just an idea. We cant do science with just that. We need more information's.Without it we cant do much :<. And saddly... we dont have more informations yet...

Where is NASA when I need them to fact check but wouldn't meteor impacts be 100% possible?

The moon is covered in impact sites, each impact would "throw" dust upward (which gravity would slowly and subsequently bring down) and nearby impacts would release a shockwave (very easily damaging or destabilizing walls). The meteor would not have had to hit the wall directly to cause damage to it.

Nonogramms (!), Ciphers, Spectrograms, messages on starports only a few CMDRs will see...boy, as much as I love learning new things, keeping my brain busy and exploring mysteries...
Sometimes I catch myself thinking that I want to be able to explore those things on my own.
No question I wouldn't be able to and I am thankful for all you great guys...but...you know if there was no Canonn we all would still be roaming around, trading, fighting, exploring without a clue what was waiting for us out in the black.

Is there any significance to the symbols on the base of the pillars?

My apologies if this has already been discussed, but I didn't see it mentioned in the summary on the first page.

wait what? I was at the site day before yesterday, and I didn't think I was there very long but suddenly I got the 50% fuel warning.
I figured I was just there longer than I thought and maybe the SRV fuel usage had changed a bit in 2.3...

that's gotta go on the Things To Try At The Alien Ruins list.
