Right, me job's done :) I'm having a pesky migraine, so excuse me if I'm not available for questioning. Also it's my birthday today, so kind of a neat present for me, no?

Have fun!

It's a copy/paste, and I'm already getting indications that I've already scanned some of these obelisks, I'm getting that sinking feeling.

Wow! It looks like I correctly figured out the system, but I was wrong with the planet http://i.imgur.com/1JgM8i0.jpg

To me it looks exactly the same including the placement of the items... and broken walls... well... thats strange...

I am getting data i already have thus far... but i have a theory... get the original 13 scans from here get another 13 from the alpha site once you have done the original 13 combos

Congratulations CMDR zorbaq. Was it brute force or based on anything? Any special features in the locality? (Canyons? Craters?)

So the layout is identical?

This would imply that the layout:
A) doesn't use the ruins location as a reference point
B) doesn't point to another ruins location
C) still might depict the Guardians "home"

Questions from someone who can't get in game till tonight (which will inevitably get answered shortly):
A) are the markings on the base of the relic towers the same?
B) are the changing triangular code patterns on the obelisks the same?
C) are the activator objects and relic towers in the same locations?
D) do we get different results from Ram Tah scans?
E) does moon-rise, moon-set and star position correlate in the same manner as the first site?

Confirmed copy/paste, I've already earned a million just sitting in my SRV, obviously another got a successful scan and it's bleeding like the other site, I'm ready to jump out of this farce.

One more question: brute force with excellent instincts, or do you have insights into finding the other sites?

I have no theory. It was a combination of primarily luck (my candidate actually was the largest planet in that system but I switched after giving up on it early), brute force and spidey sense. Having an excel spreadsheet with haversine formula and a matrix of lat/long for tracking my brute force progress helped immensely.

That's pretty easy to explain...Frontier thought someone was going to figure out the meaning behind the ruins. Months past and no one did, so they started up an in-game way of dropping hints to move the progress along. If we can't find the sites, they'll drop more hints. If we find the sites and still can't figure it out, they'll drop more hints. Make sense?
FDev didn't expect us to find the ruins that fast, as a matter of fact. The recent change (or correction/ completion?) of the site made it obviously useful in the first place. So, we are talking not about months in this case.

Well if it is a copy paste that scuppers a few theories about why the site changed layout (if they're all the same then you can't find them in the "wrong" order)

If you got all your data from Synuefe site on PG/OPEN and not SOLO, you won't find anything new here (because of the bug you mentioned). I suspect other candidate systems contain ruins with different setups.

Please go away. Stop trying to pretend you're ahead of spacegoblin.

lets all just ignore him. Click on user name, ignore user. On the tiny tiny tiny basically zero chance he actually has any real info, one of the few people who hasn't ignored him will say something about it here.

From where I sit, everyone is ahead of me! ;)

If there is anything in all of that moon stuff I posted, I haven't sussed it out yet.

Still, a new site, perhaps new input on that front!

Keep working on those theories folks, another site should help us work out if there's anything for us to work out, if nothing else.

Good luck all, and be aware that those Oculus nutters have said they will be along to "protect the site from desecration".

The whole site being a map is certainly out of the question since this is identical to the first, but the large keys(with other clues) could be cross references, where they intersect? 3 sites would be required to pinpoint a location in 3D space.

More specifically, if you got more than 13 (or 15?) data points from open you won't find anything new, because that was the intended number of "active relics" you get in solo.
I've gotten 13 entries from the first ruins, so I'm hoping you're right and I can get some new entries from the second.

I agree, those of us in open/pg have already got all the data from the alpha site, all the 36 that should have been spread out over the different sites, this I can only assume is the broken part, they're all the same.

Curses! But also congratulations. You beat me to it by an hour :)

I was just looking to get a little bit of surface survey time in solo before I headed off to cook dinner, and almost landed directly on the site.

Site looks familiar, so I think I've earned eating privileges for the day at least.
