Remind me: Why aren't we calling them 'Thargoid Scoutships'?

Given that:
1) 'Thargoid' is the name for the insecty aliens from Elite?
2) The name 'Thargoid' is common to both Orissians and Kallaxians?
3) Isn't there a file called 'Thargoid Scoutship' in the game files?
4) It's okay to be wrong.

I think we dont know whether they are Thargoids or not. I personally don´t think so. I blame the Alliance.

Couldn't someone extract the mesh and load it then we would know if the ship IS a Thargoid or not

Been wondering about something. Might just be me, but this has been running around in my head since the 2nd crash site was discovered.

We know that UA's will rust your ship and disable stations. Meta alloys from barnacles repair that damage.

The second alien crash site (and later, the third) had several UA's scattered about the area. Now, we don't know if these guys are the ones seeding the UA's or not but it caused me to wonder if they fell victim to the UA effect and these ships are doing their own version of meta alloy mining from the barnacles to repair the damage from a bad case of UA rust.

Funny how an "advance" alien race would have never considered a possible hostile/aggressive reaction after violently yanking and disabling ship mid jump. Either these are very dumb aliens and thus should be exterminated and rightly so.... or they are so incredibly advanced that any hostile action towards them wouldn't even raise an eyebrow.

And that's why people like you get put on KOS lists.

At the site, my ASP was killed twice by [preemptive removal of NAS] in a cutter.
Of course this is not naming and shaming, which is forbidden, but just mentioning a fact, that is part of the game.
I hope it made him feel good.
And it makes the game so much richer.

Some yahoo in a corvette blew my up within seconds of logging into Open to ask for help with my stuck SRV. I don't mind. It cost me about 1 mission worth of credits and 6 jumps in my Asp. I didn't even bother checking for his name, he's just another man-child. I've had plenty of good interactions in Open but I should have known that if I wanted help and comradere I should have popped into Möbius.

Still haven't seen a thargoid in person though, after many hours here and there flying around and now jumping over barnacles to no avail.
