I am very picky about maps and biomes but one thing I don’t care about is the globe location.
So although I’m not that keen on the Asian temperate short grass colour, I will use that map to try the Finnish zoo I have been wanting to make for ages.
The Asian temperate map is the only one with a vaguely discrete background and the only one that comes close to Finland in appearance. But I won’t be able to have snow on the ground and a blue sky as the temperature is too high. But it’s still the least worst option.
I get that for some people it is important that the location is correct so I would suggest that rather than picking Asia temperate map, you pick “temperate map 2” for example and then pick your own location whether by continent or more specific.
Another project I have been planning for literally years is a Dutch city zoo. But I would want the grass colour to be that of the European temperate map. But the Europe temperate map has either mountains or rolling hills. So it’s basically impossible to do anything Dutch without first figuring out how to hide the background.
What I would like to see
- The ability to select at least our own selection of 8 biome textures if it is not possible to pick from the entire selection.
- The ability to manually control temperature.
- The ability to pick a map independent of location or globe and then assign a location yourself.
