General Allow large ships to launch 2 fighters again (without multicrew)

Back then it might have been as issue. There was no engineering, SCB spam was prevalent and uncounterable, so 2 fighters per large ships might have been excessive.

Nowadays with everpresent engineering, mediums ships are kings of combat. Cheaper, faster, with significant firepower and quite tanky. Odds have changed nowadays, and hardly anyone will say that large ships are OP anymore.

So why not revert the change and allow large ships to deploy 2 fighters at same time again? Given that ship has 3 seats and you hired 2 NPC crewmates, i see no reason not to allow this.

Engineered large ships need no fighters to mop up entire fleets of npc

Whether it was or wasn't ... I 100% want this ... It's the only thing after years of playing ED that I've ever wanted implemented lol ... I'd take this over every other update/upgrade ... the ability to launch two SLF's at once as a solo/single player.

now that highly engineered player ships are slaughtering 30-40 SLF's per round in PP 2.0 stronghold systems, I think it's high time FD brings this option back.

I always thought it was due to networking issues. Having lots of computer controlled NPC fighters isn't a problem, but once you get lots of player launched fighters things quickly go pear shaped, but what would I know, never used them myself.

It's high time FD fixes that though. How long has it been - seven years ever since SLF's were introduced?

You can already fly 2 fighters with players I think, you just can't do it with NPCs.
Yea he said without Multicrew. Personally I don't like this idea. I'd like to see telepresence Multicrew share 100% of all mission rewards, winged or not. I think if this was changed, a lot more people would play telepresence Multicrew and you'd have fighters forever. The main reason I don't play Multicrew is the lack of engineering materials, if I got the ability to choose the engineering material reward, that problem is solved. Imo you are super encouraged to do missions with the update, but in Multicrew all anyone does is winged bounty hunt missions sta ked which while profitable 200mil and hour to four people in multicrew, are not a varied gameplay experience or good from a mentoring perspective. If I got full rewards for missions, I'd stick around and chat as we did missions together. Alternatively, if they added special goals and rewards in Multicrew, like if you completed certain tasks like ship scans and stuff and got a pilot federation bonus at the end that would go a long way to making it viable to not only do Multicrew but be as helpful as possible. I joined a pilot in Multicrew and I got him easily over 2000 merits just by scanning ships for him as he traveled around, solely because I want to be someone's co-pilot/gunner. My impression is that Multicrew was an incentive to co op and was meant as such, the fact that you can't load up on crew fighters leans into that. That said, the very fact that you can hire 3 crew and can only take 1 and have to pay for all does actively counter that.

Except that engineering had been around for about a year before our little friends the SLFs were introduced and ships modified to fit them. I remember people asking why we couldn’t launch more than one at a time when they were introduced so there is no again.

A single Corvette with two SLFs might not seem too overpowered but a wing of four with eight SLFs is going to be a very different matter.

Considering there's is no "balance" anyway, I say they might as well add this. If someone whant to spend 20% of their earnings to be able to do this I see no reason to stop them.

Initially by design there supposed to be 3 pilots and 3 SLF to be launched from one ship. The UI wasn't changed since then and now we have this UI placeholder with 3 slots for pilots which you will never use. 3 pilots means that you will lose 30% money from all activities in game. Having just one is already stressing me out cause this useless placeholder in my crew stealing 10% of my profit. Imagine 2 of those or 3. I would rather not. This whole mechanic needs a complete redesign and rework. Giving us 2 SLF at once won't fix anything related to this mechanic. It will in fact make it even that much worse.
