Allow the VR '2D screen' to be disabled?

Are there any VR shooters that you play with mouse and keyboard? I’m going to Google it. I always assumed there was but now I’m wondering how the aim mechanics would work… like if you look around does the point of aim stay in the same place relative to your view until you use the mouse? Or does it stay facing forward until you turn your body?
i would never play a shooter in VR with KB and mouse it would be a proper vomit fest for me. however YMMV. i have however played plenty of fps games in VR with an xbox pad and, whilst not as good as a proper VR implemented game - like say no mans sky - it is still a totally playable control method for fpsers, and indeed when i got my 1st vr headset there were no vr controllers so that was all that was available.

Reverb G2 --- I played ED exclusively in VR. Suddenly not long after type release (Just referencing when the problem started) ED continues to open in 2D and not the vr headset. It used to open in the vr headset but in 2D when the problem started. Now it defaults to the PC monitor, bu the sound comes from the headset.
Anyone having this problem?

does your headset still work in other games? I loved the reverb G2 it's still a top drawer headset however iirc Microsoft are not only dropping support for windows MR headsets,.they are actively stopping it working in windows 11. hopefully that is not the issue here.

failing by that .... when I open elite I get the option to open in vr.or open on monitor
there is a box I could check to not ask next time. could you have checked that by mistake? if so go into the settings in steam and reactivate it

In addition to the Full VR option, it would be nice to have some options to have a better 2D version:
  • Change the position/size of the screen
  • Change the background color

I'm enjoying 2D games with my Quest3 on a big virtual screen, but the implementation from Frontier is ugly.

Yeah a black background with a curved screen would be better but no ideal, its a day and night difference in VR
