Amaaaazing!! But why is there 3D depth on planets and stars?

So when will they lift this ban then?

.
.

Have they specified that you can't tell about when that happens?

:D

I see what you did there :D

To be honest though, we have one deadline already, so in three weeks we will know a lot more. So put down that torch, don't need to torture Ben ;) :D

You're not the boss of me!

You can't tell me who I can or can not torture!!

.

One of these days they'll slip up...

Ben P, loved your response to that statement about 32 bit limitations ...... I didn't understand it but ...

Does anyone else experience that thing when, as soon as someone starts talking maths, it's like trying to force two magnets of the same polarity together?!

I'm explicitly banned from telling you anything about anything that could be construed as an upcoming feature or change, sadly.

WTH? Who made that call? The same person that thought releasing on Steam without providing keys to existing owners?

FD, please get your head out of your bum.

Why the insult? We want more interaction not less.

You think it's the right thing to do for a Developer wade in to a thread and start making content promises? If things get pulled for reasons out of his control, then we get the world and its mum screaming 'broken promises' and 'class action lawsuit' etc ... Information has to be release from the top in carefully managed fashion. Have some respect.

I didn't insult this dev, I insulted the idiot at FD that keeps making decisions like this. I can assure you it WASN'T Ben, so relax. I'll respect David and Frontier when they respect us.

I have nothing against Ben or the other "little guys" on the dev team. Their boss however, is another story and this "boss" is the reason Ben and the other devs can't interact with us. Kissing a dev's butt isn't going to change the "Don't say anything" rule in place at FD.

If you want to know why we don't have answers to the questions we've been asking or why devs can't talk to us about things that may or may not be coming, now you know, some idiot explicitly banned FD employees from doing so. No amount of kissing behind is going to change that.

Yep, I got your point first time - not quite sure that you got mine. Companies delivering product usually have a very controlled path to announce up and coming features. It's entirely normal business practice to control what is said and when in order to avoid raising expectation and exposing the company to allegations of broken promises and non delivery. Typically, this is only circumvented under heavily caveated NDA (non disclosure agreement) sessions with limited individuals. This is good business practice, not some flagrant ad hoc managerial decision. Just because it doesn't make you or I immediately happy, doesn't mean it's wrong.

Another thread for another time. Good luck trying to get discussion or information with the "banned from saying anything policy" in place.

Folks, E3 is coming up and Frontier is an exhibitor this year... most likely there will be some sort of unveiling of the first major "expansion" for Elite. So it's no surprise that they are being cagier than usual.
