AMD FSR and VR

Questions regarding using FSR with Vr:

1. Where is the image that is being downscaled/upscaled coming from when using vr? Is it the hmd image? The display adapter image?

2. When using FSR with vr, how the ’hmd quality‘ setting effect the upscale/downscale trickery?

And why isn't it being applied to the 2D Odyssey on foot screen properly? If you change FSR to performance mode, the 2D screen resolution is awful. Not even C64 graphic level.

thanks. I realize the on foot vr is a problem.

my questions above were for the functioning space and Srv portions of the game. Which look and perform better than ever in vr after update 6 for me.

1. I’m guessing here, but I think it’s from the HMD image - so dropping down from whatever SuperSampling 1.0 is to some lesser value, then upscaling with FSR. The virtual flatscreen is missing this part and thus just renders at the lower value.
2. Again guessing, but I think HMDQ comes after the image is processed so it’s something applied on top of the FSR.

I think the SuperSampling stuff works before the image is made and the HMDQ stuff comes after the image is made - at least that’s how I’ve always (mis)understood it.

Thanks. Playing around with settings further I am finding incredibly stable FPS in vr with the new FSR.
I have FSR set to ultra quality and hmd set to 1.25
With that I’m getting Horizons level of FPS even on odyssey planets(not settlements)
There are a few artifacts and the image does appear to shimmer a little more but I’ll take that for the buttery smooth FPS.
