I'm English so a home invasion is not always a cause for execution.

Maybe one of the good things about human development and the comuniative advances of the last 5000 years, is we don't always kill on sight.

The cerebellum has advanced to the point where we install post crime solutions and a legal system to avoid the insta-judgement of those afflicted by the crime.

I respect these folks culture, but they killed some dude, if wanted in there space or not, huh, but they killed a person.

OP, the appropriate response is to express sympathy and condolences to the friends and family of the man in question, whilst utterly and thoroughly condemning his actions as the atrocity they are.

Indeed, referring to them as barbaric (relative to whom?), when you don't know anything of their culture other than they are technologically primitive and apparently willing to kill invaders and repeat trespassers (something hardly unique to them), seems profoundly ethnocentric.

You are forgetting that the "modern" people of Africa and Middle East are mostly suffering because somebody decided to try and inject our western culture into their lives.

I don't know if its been mentioned yet, but I read up on the island last time it was all over the news (they attacked a helicopter) and they were once a lot friendlier. A trawler/fishing boat ran aground there and the islanders were happily looting it when a salvage crew turned up with AK47 wielding armed guards and there was a massacre.

They are not hostile towards the outside world, they are understandably absolutely terrified of it.

They'll stay isolated until enough people die to either force the authorities hands in doing something positive (but very difficult) or they are wiped out by disease/our violence.
