Actually, we can. Because your group has never produced results. You have just had effects.
You've never change the community and the game for the better, you've just made it worse.
There isn't any lying or threats. You mean the last paragraph where they want to publish to media? SDC are right thought, if enough attention is given to combat logging, Frontier will take action. They don't want to damage the community, they want the game to be good. Crime and punishment revamp would solve quite a bit, including the want for people to combat log
yeah so even when the lead designer comes out and says it had nothing what so ever to do with "unsavoury actions" from an "unsavoury" player group yet they still try and continue to try to take credit for!!!
we in the academia call that plagiarism and it is not cool but ya know this is a game and not that serious
Making frontier take responsibility for their actions is a good thing.
Transparency is a good thing.
Punishing combat logging is a good thing.
Everything here is leading towards improvement, but the prospect of you having to shield up and high wake instead of task kill is the only thing looking down, trust me, you will survive.
I'll start off by saying - this isn't reddit, and thank the gods. Reddit has to be one of, if not THE worst website I have ever seen in this history of ever. It looks like it was designed by someone who failed basic web design, and I could give a defecation less what anyone there has to say about anything at any time. It's a garbage site.
Now with that out of my system...
I have to say this topic is starting to just plain disgust me. It's been hashed and rehashed again and again. And then, on top of it, we find people like the OP staging what essentially equates to false reports of this, wasting the time of Frontier personnel that could otherwise be spent investigating real issues. Yeah, I said it, real issues - like server instability, or actual bugs that need fixed, and for what?
There's no gain from killing other players - no stats for it, nothing. I'm reminded of an incident from when I was in middle school, when the school bully decided he needed to try his luck picking on "the new kid". Except "the new kid" was not the kid to pick on, and the bully got a beat down the likes of which had never been seen before, and the sound of his crying was heard far and wide. Sure, I wound up in the principal's office, and I stood up for myself there as well - I would not apologize for defending myself and I didn't care if this kid's feelings hurt more than his black eyes, bloody nose, split lip, cracked rib or broken fingers. I told the principal I hoped he got hit by a car walking home and I could care less about him. I got to sit for week in in-school suspension, and it was worth it. And I had to meet with the principal again, along with my parents, and I said the same thing then too - I'm glad I beat this kid down, and yes, I do hope he gets hit by a car walking home, and I don't care about him, and nothing was going to change that.
And that's kind of where I am with this issue - I don't care if Frontier does anything about this issue or not. It doesn't affect me in any way, and all the crying about it isn't going to win me over. Let it rest. Let it die already. Let it get hit by a car. You can't put "I blew up 1000 unarmed trader ships" on your resumes, so it really doesn't matter. Frontier has far too many other, far more important things to worry about before this.

Are we on the same page here? I said accusations of lying. Keyword, accusations.
Threatening to go to the media is a threat. I don't see how you can point that part out, and not say it was a threat.
But then again, you are a Reddit moderator. Weird mental gymnastics are a common thing there. It's why I hate that place. Still visit it though.
I don't care what SDC wants. It's about the methods they use to get. I view this particular one as damaging. If you don't, fine, whatever. You can keep living in your dream world.

Please make an official OPEN PvE server mode where players can play in OPEN (sure there's Mobius, but it's a work player derived workaround that has many flaws). That's all that is needed. Folks play in OPEN to get a feeling of someone being out there; and only combat log to avoid the negative interaction which there is no avoiding. Give OPEN PvE, pleassssse.
Then we can leave 'OPEN' to to it's fate with these 'reddit' folks.

Are you accusing me of combat logging, because I disagree with your methods? Are you g serious? I have never combat logged. I always fly with shields. I even use boosters and cell banks in my freighters. I will NEVER cheat.

FDev does not respond to your tickets. You accuse them of lying. Zac simply says it was a mistake.
What they are doing is perfectly legitimate, it's the only way to make people listen it seems.
I would also like to point out that his work in handling a community is not to be underestimated, i am a retired moderator for another space game, i know what it is like. The ''mental gymnastics'' you are talking about is called higher level intellectual discourse.
As for dream world, with FD conceding and confirmed that we were right is starting to look like it's indeed perhaps you living there.
Combat logging is frowned upon by FD, as openly stated, this goes out to everyone and not just you.

It's this simple, combat logging is against the rules.
Please take a moment to accept that this is a simple matter of fact. You can either openly oppose Frontier and their rules, or recognize that we do have a point, this isn't about griefing or SDC, this is about the rules. Combat logging is a violation and should be punishable.

I agree perhaps it is time to split the PvP and PvE and have a true PvE open group rather than having to leave it to a private group to run PvE for Frontier then it will end a lot of these arguments,
A majority of redditors aren't PvPers and don't like SDC. I'm one of them. Crime & Punishment system would fix a lot of things, including these problems. I don't think I support a PvE mode made by Frontier specifically, but better player group management is definitely a need
