An option for feathers ?...

Hi everyone
I know that some of you will say when you saw the title "THIS IS A JURASSIC PARK GAME NO FEATHERS HERE, GO BUY PREHISTORIC KINGDOM"
But I want to know if that already confirm if the game don't have any option for add feathers on their dinosaurs of if there will be an option with the genetic for example (as we can change the skin by genetic) or even if a DLC is planned for this, I don't really like Prehistoric Kingdom dinosaurs and some others games like this one (like saurian) as they follow theory I don't follow (theropods with lips, ...) so if this game can add just an option for add some feathers on raptors or Gallimimus that will be really cool (for me ^^)
I know that not everyone have the opinion that me but as I explain in my presentation, that will be cool if the game evolve with it time, as we already have some dinosaurs which are almost totally scientifically accurate as Edmontosaurus, Suchomimus or even the Ceratosaurus which is incredible !!

No, I doubt there will ever be feathers even in DLC. The JP Dinosaurs are licensed property and I doubt they will change them. JP lore says no feathers.

I would have liked the dinos in JWE to follow the latest discoveries too, feathers for many of them, being a part of that.
But it is what it is. As this game is based on Jurassic Park I don't think feathers will be in it. In an interview I saw that paleontologists were very disappointed by the lack of feathers in the latest JP movie.
Perhaps a new movie might show feathers on certain species, and FDev might use that.

Scientists also strongly suspect that the head shields on many dinosaurs, like the triceratops were not suitable for defensive purposes, but were used for display purposes during mating rituals etc. They expect that many of them had colourful patterns. It would be cool to see this in the game too.

yes, after as I said that will need to be an option, for the pure JP fan boys can make a parc with any feathered and accurate dinosaurs and people who want to have better dinosaurs can have it, as this everyone will be happy !

Its licenced by universal though so feathers are incredibly unlikely because they dont exist in JP/W lore...yet. Never say never but its like a 0.1% chance because some/alot of the dinosaur models are ones that universal have provided for them to work with (iirc its stated in the gameplay vid on Jw:E youtube page). If they go changing that theyll be changing the licence universal provided. At the end of the day it is a Jurassic World game, not a real world game.

As much as I want this to be a cosmetic skin option for the dinosaurs that have strong evidence of being feathered, I doubt this will happen given how this is the JP Franchise and in the game due to the manipulation of the dinosaur's genes and using various type types of animal DNA, a null allele is created.

But it could be possible to have more accurate colourful skins for the other dinosaurs in the game similar to the ones from the Jurassic World website, e.g. JP/// Velociraptor.

I get it that the game‘s dinosaurs have to follow the movie‘s visuals. IP and all that and I am fine with it.

The real question is therefore: Why didn‘t the movie dinosaurs „evolve“ according the modern scientific knowledge? It would have been easy enough: „Oh, we were able to extract more complete DNA from our probes with the modern technology and hence didn‘t need to substitute with reptile DNA as much as we had to in our early attempts. What you see here is, how dinosaurs really looked like! Impressive, isn‘t it? They looked like the ancestors of birds, which is what they really were!“

Well in JP3 they did try to give the raptors a more accurate look adding protofeathers on their head and the result was that everyone hated it that's why there will be no feather raptors in any of the JW movies.

Well, that‘s really a shame! Unfortunately, people love to stick to their established opinions and tend to reject new knowledge. :(

Having read quite a few articles about the more recent discoveries (and enjoyed all the awesome pictures illustrating them), the dinosaurs in the movie/game look like plugged chicken to me ...

Probably cause they weren't 100% Dinosaurs. They were like mongrels. A little Dino DNA with modern animals used to fill in gaps as needed. They might not evolve the same way as a real Dinosaur would.

I don't think people are rejecting knowledge. Frontier is following the JP lore and that says no feathers. I don't particularly like feathered Dinosaurs. I think it makes them look like big chickens. I grew up with Dinosaurs with no feathers. I doubt they will add feathers even as a DLC since even the Dinosaurs that they put in the game that haven't been seen in the JP universe end up looking like JP lore Dinosaurs.

Everyone hated the feathers .. or just JP3 ? :p

I think many hated the feathers at the time simply because they hated JP3.

For so long, many hated Spinosaurus, especially since it killed the Rex in the movie. Nowadays there isn't an Evolution video that doesn't mention Spinosaurus in the comments, asking for it to be in the game. It's even more talked about than Indominus. To get back on topic, I personally love the JP3 raptors now; they're my favorite incarnation. Their designs and behavior really stand out to me, and I would love to have the JP3 variations as skins, both male and female.

I really doubt we will ever get the male raptors in the game since frontier wants to stick to lore, however they could get away with it saying they're still females but I doubt that. It would be a really cool addition though.

Personally, "sticking to the lore" is a poor excuse when the lore supports male dinosaurs, especially considering the original dinosaurs could spontaneously change sex with their frog genes. It was a development choice. They could get away with just saying they're females engineered to look like the males, but that's such an odd direction to take, especially when they're considering the lore.

If we ever get male dinosaurs, it will be post-release dlc, maybe as a part of a Site B-esque game mode. There is a high demand for male variants. Frontier could easily make major buck by heeding that demand.

I don't think it's "sticking to the lore". I think it's "sticking to the licence".
Don't forget that FD don't have completely free hands in this.

Personally, my best friend is an book illustrator with great focus on dinos and I LOVE what people can do with feathers.
But in JP/JW universe? I don't really mind. Dinos are cool, one way or another.
