Anaconda Cockpit, any word from FD

"We nerfed the conda cockpit, so the rest of the galaxy has more fps... unless your friends are at colonia, then thou shall suffer (fps loss)"

Considering they have not even acknowledged the bug tickets on it since it went live, I'm not holding my breath.

Indeed. Some confirmation of "Yes there is an issue" and "Yes we plan on fixing it" would be nice.
And the communication part of it doesn't seem too complicated FD.

It's work in progress - FD is bringing Anaconda's cockpit visuals in line with consoles and their graphics capabilities. The end result (for proper and seamless experience of our Xbox and Playstation friends) is planned to look like this:

Seriously?

Are people really wanting that old, drab, dirty Anaconda bridge back?

You know the one - the floor looked like it was taken from an old, used, public toilet.

No thanks - I rather like the cleaner, brighter look.

You should check the age of the anaconda.. its not a fresh ship.

Its not a bug, there is i think a slight lighting bug in that the cockpit is very lit, i think it is present in a couple of cockpits (from memory its a known issue)

The changes in textures and models, much of the random clutter from around the other consoles have been removed in order to make the multi-crew seats not have too much background stuff blocking the hologram or possible future visuals. It is a design choice based around making the cockpit/bridge flexable and less cluttered for the other crew members.

They removed a lot of the grimey feel which, id like to see back again, but I would hardly get as upset as a lot of the people here over it. FDev are between a rock and a hard place.
If they didnt change it, the people playing multi-crew would be like... eeew these stations are hard to see or understand because iv got a huge static picture of the anaconda in behind the holograms. Along with the other general moan of "Its 3302, you'd think that an expensive ship like the anaconda would not look like its got oily hand prints everywhere" So what did they do? they got rid of it all. And now people moan again.

I personally think the general lighting just needs to be made a bit more moody... but thats about it.

I've not played the game since patch went live. If this isn't a bug, I might not play anymore. Simply because Anaconda was my home in this game. And they've demolished it.

It's called "vintage look".
Hipster Cmdrs love it.

That's my sentiment. Having spent a ton of time in two of them. One for CZ and one for Exploring I can't fly it anymore. I suppose technically I could but for me at least its a deal breaker.

I am trying to get an official word so I can just sell them if its not going to change and fly something else.

Well there's a difference between 'designed centuries ago' and 'built centuries ago'. It's an old design, but doesn't lore suggest they're still being built? I don't think there's an unending supply of old filthy Anacondas on mothballs just waiting to replace ones which have blown up, do you? ;)

And I certainly wouldn't want to purchase a newly-manufactured Anaconda which has had the used-toilet look replicated ;)

While reading this thread an interesting idea popped into my head: It would be interesting to have the cockpit go from the new pristine look to worn and grubby based on how long you've owned/used the ship. This would work much like the worn paint mechanic where you would have the option to repair and/or spruce the place up whenever you were at a station or you could just let it "get the vintage look" until it resembled a frat house after a wild weekend long party. This could be a feature applied to all ships' cockpits. Just a thought.

If they've really downgraded the visuals to match consoles - WHY???

It has been fine, so just what the hell? Screw consoles! Have different model sets if they can't handle it, but don't screw over PC gamers!
