Anaconda speculation.

So, last night i was driving around my Anaconda once again to check out her stunning details. And as before, i was again wondering what some stuff might be.

Only this time i decided to share it with you all.. So we can speculate together.

What are your thoughts?

Not my picture, thank you whoever made it. I only added text.

Really curious about the huge cargo bay area..

I would assume the huge one could just be for cargo loading and off-loading. The second cargo bay I just think is a slip up on the devs or just pointless eye candy.

Edit: Or is that second cargo bay the SLF thing? I am not sure what it means by it on the picture. I don't think I've really thought about this but where is the SLF hangar on the Conda?

I could be wrong... but it looks to me that cargo door 1 is the SRV hanger. The huge door in the middle is the SLF hanger. And the back cargo door is the actual cargo scoop.

Now, for speculation... the back cargo area that has the shading about the size of a sidewinder. Maybe Anacondas that carry sidewinders have to attach them outside of the hull? And that is where they'd go? The cargo scoop is then an airlock?

Nope, the cargo scoop on the nose is used for both SRV and cargo.

Nice thinking, the first bay is indeed the SRV bay. (i forgot about that).

But the SLF is lowered form the belly as well, i don't see the hatch in this picture. What means, they added a hatch, what means this is an old picture. lol. Back to google... ---------->

The big one is the slf bay. the unused extra cargo door with a sidey silhouette, I'm guessing is an abandoned early slf concept.

It looks as though a sidey would have been attached here externally. That fits with the older description of being able to launch fighters up to sidewinder size. Maybe this was abandoned for the more modular design we ended up with, that allows multiple vessels to be stored internally. And maybe the huge middle door was originally designed for landing craft.. Who knows :)

What about the fighter launch bay? (duh - just realised mentioned above as "SLF")
My error.

The huge one is the SLF hangar. You can watch it if you are in fighter and use debug camera when docking :D
The anaconda has indeed 2 cargo bays! The one on the Front is used for SRV and for the refinery IF you place her in the lowest class 4 slot. If you place the refinery in any other slot, the collectors fly to the cargo bay at the end of the ship instead :D
Maybe this works the same with cargo racks, at least for manual scooping the one on the front is used.

Sadly it is only the Anaconda who has gotten SO MUCH details :( i love it so much and wanna see it on the other ships too...

Anaconda was supposed to be able to launch a Sidewinder, it used to be on the text in the shipyard and I remember DB talking about a Sidewinder could be kitted out to be very effective if it didn't have to carry the FSD and large fuel tanks. Idea was disappointingly dropped when ship launched fighters were closer to being patched in.

Personally i think it would have made the Sidewinder relevant in game if it was the ship that could be modded in the most severe fashion of any of them, imagine a high pressure atmospheric only version for exploring deep within gas giants or a submersible version for water worlds or any of a hundred other mission specific variants all dropped from a "carrier" style exploration 'Conda.

FD seem to like limiting their own gameplay possibilities in my experience of the game.

Maybe its not off just yet.. never know what the future brings.

Imagine to be able to accept missions form small/mediums landing pad outposts as well with the sidewinder.

I wish there were more images and schematics like this type of stuff, my inner geek would love it!

Just yesterday I was flying along in my Imp Fighter trying to get us close to the cutter as I could to take in the finer details and look through the windows etc!!
