Analysing the Thargoid Simulation

What kind of mission is this:
Threat level 13, and please compare rewards, first and second option????????

The missions are bad if you're not repped up, but even if you are they're capped to 50m and 5 materials per, which is an ok bonus for the lower kill count ones, but it's probably mostly worth doing these just to help the war effort.

For regular BGS wars though the missions do very little, I wonder if this holds true here.

We are inundated in Elite with everyone wanting a PMF. What if this is a big "reset"? Oust expanding minor factions (we are in 106 for example) by having the systems taken over by Thargoids. Then this frees up systems to be inserted in.

That's the bug I mentioned caused by thargoid missions not giving any inf - the mission generator still seems to generate a INF+ reward option but it gets labelled as REP+ and has 0 credits.
The thargoid missions also seem to be limited to only give one mat (instead of five), I already pinged Sally to check that.
However: since most of them (single kill/non-wing missions excluded) don't have a target system and can be completed anywhere, you can go around to every invaded system and stack a bunch. Then get a wing together, knock them out and collect 20x 50m credits.

Can you intuit anything about how much is being put into the war effort by tracking the AX squadron leaderboards - assuming a trivial amount of AX stuff is done outside the war systems?
Possibly, but it's a big pain to track more than a tiny amount of data off them.

AX 1-week CGs between U13 and U14 were 1 to 1.5 trillion bonds cashed in during the week
Last season (25) I have data for had an estimated 3.5 trillion bonds over eight weeks (though that was PC only)

This season is about half-way done and to-date looks quieter than last season, but then until this week, most of this season was calm-before-the-storm with not as much AX to do.

Anyway, top-10 PC factions at the moment are (in billions) 70, 60, 48, 33, 32, 18, 18, 15, 14, 11 ... so we can check back in a week and see how much those numbers have gone up. Probably doesn't get us much of use as there's no way of knowing which of the many affected systems they apply to.

(I have no idea if I'm suggesting something that's even possible)

Could EDMC data be used to get an automated overview of activity (cargo in, injured out, Thargoids killed)? If so it would be easy to database the data, select by system and compare with the Galmap progress bars to get an idea of what activity might be doing what over how long?

A lot of the people in IDA, AXI, and PDE, are almost certainly using EDMC.

Technically possible, but I'm not sure the data obtained would be worth the effort.

That sort of data isn't part of the standard dataset that EDDN processes, so it'd need a separate EDMC plugin to send it somewhere else for collation. So you'd only get a subset of the EDMC users installing it.

The traffic report comparison had the usual 5-10% of basic activity being captured by EDDN, which includes EDMC, EDDiscovery, and a few other less-used tools. So an EDMC plugin would capture less than that, which doesn't feel like enough to draw meaningful conclusions about activity types.

Why can't they give us the exact time of the Thargoid tick anywhere in the UI?
Likely Because they have no idea how long it will take its the first one ever,. Server down time on thursday may be 30 mins it may be 1 hour it may be 2 hours... now that the thargoids have a BGS to change at the T-tick. Update 14 took way longer to have the servers online than they stated...
