wow OP this I did not know!!! cheers for the info also 7K systems and still ranger.. wow!!! dude!!! I got ranger last night when I handed in my stuff and went from trailblazer to ranger.... total systems visited a little over 1K and total scans and data sold... about 7000 in total (level 2 and 3) with >6.5K of level 3

For some unknown reason to myself, others or the Ancient Gods; I actually turned from my FSD off . . . Durhhhh :S

I suddenly crashed out into reals space and caused a heap of damage to my ship and ended with 87% on damage

Yes folks I actually turned off my ship's FSD while in mid-cruise

I've just found out you can navigate to a system using the port's name, not just the system's.

This was after finding out you can set the course all the way TO the port rather than have to select the port in system view when you arrive.

Boy, does that save some time when trading.

I am learning to fly in reverse during combat and in the heat of battle forget to take my finger off the reverse button .... and I'm sitting there thinking "how can that guy fly away so fast"

Oh man, I remember when I found that, so nice! I set up Voice Attack a while ago, I don't even remember what I have the key bound to, I just say "Return to route" and it brings it back.

I have the OP beat. I got 11 KLY towards Sag A* when I realized that I had accidentally clicked 2T Cargo rack instead of Deep Surface Scanner.

In the options menu (On the Start page when the game has initially loaded.) If you go to controls you can amend or set what ever key/button bindings you like against the controls/functions in the list.

A lot aren't bound to anything by default, but take your time and have a good look through and there are all kinds of possibilities to help with tailoring your keyboard/controller to your most used functions.

I've got 2 Asps, one multi-role and a second more set up for exploring when i switch between them i spend ages cycling through the weapon groups looking for what's on the other ship.
