Sorry Cap, I had to put an end on the race at some point, and announced it at the end of a long, rambling post that was easy to miss. (I believe it's called 'burying the lead.') If it makes you feel better I wound up working the night I put the deadline on and was unable to improve my time.

So you don't go away empty handed, take a bumper sticker. Limited edition!

So... this is another lesson for future races. Have a defined deadline from the start. Also, we're going for private time and route postings so creative thinking won't be so easily appropriated by competitors.

Vargur, any progress on your race? You've got much more ambitious, managed scenario which will take a lot more effort to implement, but if you can pull it off you'll have real have a real, live event.

If FD ever allows user-submitted content for their store, the Buckyball Run banner could make a really nice bumper sticker for our ships. Kinda like saying "Yeah I was in the Buckyball Run and all I got was this bumper sticker".

Of course, we can't see it unless we get external views, or another Commander needs to fly REAAAALLLLLLLLLYYYYY close to you to see it :)

Yes i do have progress, the race will go live around 19.00 CEST this friday.
So far i got 5 people to race and stream (including me), hoping for a few more last minute registrations.
But either way the race will go on no matter how many people we get.

Lakon 6 FTW

Just did 6:03 with an otherwise empty Lakon 6 (single player). Had to approach Wyrd station from behind so that took a few extra seconds.

Route: Eranin (Aulin and I Bootis were behind the planet) - Wyrd.
Controller: X52

Dropping the shields after start, then dropping out of frameshift immediately at the intermediate star helps with the overheating issue :)

You take pictures? (Screenshots)

Pictures or it didn't happen. (I mean, it probably did, but in order to get on the board, you gotta have screenshots for verification. It's in the rulebook.)

On the bright side, it sounds like it will only take you 6 minutes to do it again... And the Buckyball Run 2 is underway if you want a stab at something a little meatier.
