Ok, then I will try again:
Are 2nd tier persistent NPCs with 'web of contacts' concept can be expected relatively soon? Are there much work to be done before this feature could happen?

Thanks :D

Again. FD. This could be a way of adding so much richness to every aspect of the game, every role. I remember the DDF discussions never mind the DDA we know that is just there to be ignored, but there was definitely excitement and passion and good ideas coming from FD in the discussions about NPC's. PP is absolutely not a manifestation of that passion and excitement, so, where did it go?

Is there any kind of NPC content coming? Or is the NPC system, like the exploration system... "solid".....???

FD Devs don't look beyond the first two pages in a thread. Statistically speaking, if you venture to the other side of the galaxy, you're more likely to bump into a dolphin flying a harmonica, than one of the Dev's responding to your requests or questions.

Incorrect. While most won't look past the first few pages, I do. I keep a nice tally of what's hot, what might become an issue, and what's not hot. :)

But this is your baby Brett, You know how it eats, sleeps, breathes and when it's feeling poorly amongst other things. I would expect you to be able to recite every postID from memory ;)

Same could be said of a high proportion of forum posters.

The number of times I read "I haven't read all the posts, but <proceeds to repeat points that were made 5 pages ago but which this poster thinks is original and fresh>...", is quite high. :)

Since I am at the other side of the galaxy, I'll be on the look-out. After all Michael did say there would be new things to see, and as far as I know, the harmonica flying dolphin has not been spotted before.

Do you think Brett has a hidden field or three scoring forum users so he can assess the likelihood of a thread containing community-relevant information?

Very nice to know Brett C; Ive' voiced concerns and at least its nice to know a Staff person has read it...

Here's my question: Narcotics are now actually worth something. But when can we expect a demand for them on stations where they are illegal?

I bought them for 8810 per ton, which is an _excellent_ price, and every black market I tried to sell them I made a loss, because no demand.

Question for the devs (again)

Are the modules for each faction going to be looked at, improved and or changed?

My Question.
Will there be any plans to allow us to get closer to planets, perhaps give them atmospheres and weather before we get the paid planetary landings expansion?

I've come back to this thread and it occurs to me - is anyone else baffled by how little FD seem to care about exploring?

It's baffling simply because the Galaxy is what makes Elite...Elite (and it is elite at being Elite!). I admit that the background simulator is pretty unique too, but still, not quite as innovative, groundbreaking, or "wow" as the galaxy. I mean, the combat? How many MANY games do space combat? The fetch quests? The missions? Again, nothing unique AT ALL.

The galaxy is the innovation. The galaxy is what makes it it a True Wonder of the Gaming World.

Like someone said, the galaxy is what I think will make or break the game in the long run. It's the only part of the game that guarantees sales. Other stuff, people will choose other games over Elite some of the time. But when they want a replica of the Milky Way and a true replica of astrophysics, they will only ONLY buy Elite. There are no other choices, end of.

So again I ask, why is exploration getting so little love? It's baffling

(not to say that it isn't AWESOME! This isn't a criticism. As I've said before, it's more a question of the glaring holes that are glaring simply because holes stand out so much more when the object itself is otherwise perfect)

After months it's rather difficult to get baffled about it. I would be pleasantly surprised if the next update brought in major exploring updates, but hope the best expect the worst.

Besides, I have reached my nagging limit for this month, so I'm just going to be a good little Ziggy, sit back and wait for things to (not) come.

I'm waiting for planetary landing to go exploring just cause that to me is being a true explorer. Landing on alien worlds excites me like no other game has.
Simply honking at them to map them to me is boring.
When exploring become more exciting then I will wonder out into the black. Until then I have plenty of other things to entertain myself with.
