Some people are strangely stingy about money. I have several friends who don't hesitate buying a 3000€ top-of-the-line gaming computer but won't buy a 50€ game because it's too expensive and will wait forever for a sale.
(I would be lying if I denied being myself a bit like that too...)
Might be time to do something about old Archie if it doesn't arrive this year...The final version of the ship was completed in 3302, the schematics were stolen by Delaine agents and the ransom demand refused.
The only ship in existence has been travelling since 3303 toward shipyards that will create a new 3D Print matrix from it.
Unfortunately its jump range is barely 7 LY and the route it is taking from an undisclosed location is alleged to complete sometime in 3311, provided there are no mechanical failures to durther delay its arrival.

for me it is the principle that I paid more for elite dangerous than any other game in my almost 40 years of gaming (partly) on the basis that it included all paid DLC for the game. The principle of not paying for art that you enjoy?
Salesman of the month! lol I see what you did there, and well done sir, well done. I'm sold, and I wasn't even looking for a new ship! What is stopping you from spending the equivalent of one portion of lunch money on buying it, if you desire it now?
I mean, this is not Star Citizen, the prices are really reasonable and no matter what you do, they will not bankrupt you even if you buy all the ships.
Mmm hmm. Well stated. A topic that transcends all markets, you could write a book on this topic. Psychology and economics, I call it the bigshot syndrome. Some people are strangely stingy about money. But if they are in no hurry, how can this thread exist?Or waiting to pay whatever value one personally sees it to be because they’re in no hurry to get it.

But.... it is available. I know it for sure. I have one.Since the Mandalay was released along with Ascendancy (4.0.19.0) on the 22nd October I kind of hoped it would be available now since 3 months have passed.

Hope is a dangerous thing.Since the Mandalay was released along with Ascendancy (4.0.19.0) on the 22nd October I kind of hoped it would be available now since 3 months have passed.
I'm in this camp as well. At the risk of sounding like a grumpy old timer, I remember when buying a AAA game was £39.99 and I thought that was expensive! £59.99 and even £69.99 are now common price tags. Costs have risen over the last 15 years. And that's not even taking into account recent hyperinflation in some countries, as normal inflation is always kept slightly positive, which means that everything becomes more and more expensive over time.At the risk of sounding like a grumpy old timer, I remember when buying a AAA game was £39.99 and I thought that was expensive! £59.99 and even £69.99 are now common price tags. AAA games are literally cheaper today, and in addition to that the production value is higher tooI remember when buying a AAA game was £39.99 and I thought that was expensive! £59.99 and even £69.99 are now common price tags. (I get costs have risen in 15 years but still...)

now you can debate whether ships are DLC however bottom line despite enjoying elite immensely over the last decade my wallet is closed until we see some major expansion which costs actual money. (at which point I will buy some ARX).
finally resigned myself to having been ripped off by the lifetime pass. Nearly 10 years later, Elite still gets most of my gaming time
<...> I'm bitter about it
