Ships Any new ships in Odessy?

Gutamaya badly need medium combat ship, just for balancing conflict zones, and without those idiotic wings that only make you easier target
Another one is real large combat ship, fast and heavily armed, neither conda, vette, t-10 or cutter fit in this category, or just buff vette speed and give cutter c8 distributor
Some competitor for fdl would be nice, v 5 maybe? something betwean Vulture and FDL
And new small ship but onlly if we get gameplay for small ships, can be enhanced thrusters ship that can cold run, DBS style but with better boost and potentially better speed

It been a few times when I heard some rumors and speculations what new ships we may get in Odessy.
So far there are nothing solid I could find rearding this and FD seams to be silent about it.

But may be I missed something? Share your thoughts on this topic and any info you may have.

UDP: I just recall that FD have some plans to tweak ships we currently have in future "rebalnces" after Odessy is out.
Frankly, I am worred about that...
A newly painted adder with restored navigation from 2002...far as brand new no...it requires output

Was actually wondering this too. We have space legs now but we will they start working on new ships/manufacturers? I hate to say it but similar to star citizen? I mean, I have been saying that if odyssey came out and it was good, SC would be in trouble. From what I can tell, Elite is already patching bugs and fixing things we are reporting.

Like... the Dropship? ;)
tried that, doesnt work.
Team Members do not count as Crew Members, they cant use Turrets. My Dropship has a Large Cannon, 2 Beam Lasers, and 2 Missiles.
I will keep the Cannon and set it to "Front Fire", and replace the Beams with Mines and turn it into a Bomber.

I've just been to Hutton Orbital. Guess what I found lurking in that slot in the side of the station? It was some massive ship, sort of bigger than a Cutter volumewise, though about the same length. Anybody know what it is?

I m finding new uses for ships in Odyssey. Ships that I never had a use for are now excellent, replacing what I used to use.

Big Example - Fleet Carriers & Exploration
I find activities of the classic long range exploration ship is replaced with shorter range better equipped and beefier ships. I still use my super long jump range min/maxed exploration ships but much less because:

(a) I can launch a better equipped and more comfy short range exploration ship from a carrier.
(b) My fleet carrier can jump to more remote systems than any exploration ship can.
(c) A classic stripped paper hull exploration ship is too delicate for exobiology.
(d) A better equipped ship can deal with a broader range of unexpected events.

So... we have new styles of exploration ships, using the old ships new ways. Within EDO these new ship builds are superior to the classic old builds.

i'd personally like to see an emphasis on the military rank structure and have a story regarding it. Federation rank should provide you the ability at some point to have limited fleets. i mean really, when it says 'admiral' on someones name, why are they still solo play with one fighter? shouldn't you be able to have bigger ships, maybe a capital ship with several corvettes if you have the money? it's a bit silly that there is zero personal fleet options in a space sandbox game.

they placated users with attachable 'fighters' but it isn't the same as having your own ships, that you bought with your own cash, being piloted by your paid AI friends and having executive control over your fleet. much less why is there zero narrative regarding your ranks? cmon, let me join the military for real. let me be officially part of a faction. not just some merc who gets paid by them. it'd be far much more fun to be a part of the federation military, and as you gain ranks, they 'gift' you the faction specific ships, with faction specific loadouts based on who you pledge to within that faction. and when not doing these main missions, you can go out and do other things to build income.

Also more large ships please. federal corvette and imperial clipper shouldnt be the only high tier ships for fighting (type 10 is nice, but meh). let's get ships that require bigger fleets, and necessitate having additional AI crew to field. it's a nice idea to have ships that are cumbersome, have turrets manned by AI, and get combat that requires more tactical thinking. this game is seriously lacking in the tactical side of things in this area specifically. add real fleets that players can control, add big ships that have AI crew manning them, and allow us to enroll into the militaries we desire to be a part of and interact with the elite dangerous universe in that way. exploration is great. but with the drop of playstation platform, frontier can afford to put these people on such tasks to implement these features which, for a game all about immersion.. is sorely lacking. i mean really.. a galaxy where the users define what happens, and we CANT join the military? technically rejoin as the narrative is you are retired... it's like frontier completely forgot about it, or thought no one would want to do it.
