Any reliable way to find Suit Schematics ?

However, dont think you will swim in Suit Schematics after 2-3 missions.
Nope.
I usually do sessions of about 2h - doing about 10 restore missions per session (no faffing around watching the scenery). Sometimes more than one session per day.
After 1 week i may have between 40 and 60 suit schematics (no picking and no relogging in the same settlement)
😨 OMG that's my kind of nightmare 😂

My problem is my amount of time to play with time it takes me to do a mission, my reverse luck to finding materials or game itself that distracts me with randoms events/exploration things while traveling... Those I've already collected was same of reactivation missions similar way you suggest, I think i'll could collect about ten in another 4/5 months maybe 😅

I'm just a little more fast since I've found this useful tool:

Anyway thanks a lot for suggestions, I'll try the PTR mission again with your suggestions, I've never looked about time of post targhoid status and any tried I've got bugged missions. 🙂

A restore in an empty settlement should not take more than 5-10 minutes, including looting the settlement but with no Scav, plus like 5 minute travel time. So you should be able to do at least 4 missions per hour.
If dealing with scavs is a problem and it takes you too much time, you can fit a pair of advanced dumbfires and nuke them from orbit (i find it fun and i prefer to do it on-foot)

Use the thread to find what systems have defeated invasions in the previous thargs-week - that means they just got in PTR state and all settlements will be abandoned and ready to plunder to restore. Which means that all missions in that system will be doable.
Just an extra step - check the system on Inara and see if the factions are in any of the states that would normally lead to restore missions with bodies and fires (Civil Unrest, Lockdown, Pirate & Terrorist Attacks etc) - if so, the settlements owned by that faction may be bugged and not trigger the mission when you land.

For example, last Thursday, HIP 20492 just entered in PTR. It has about 30 settlements, all abandoned (at least for today and tomorrow, form Thursday most will be powered up), a good mix of industrial and military with some extraction, agri and high tech.
Only one faction is in Bust, but it doesnt have any settlements and Bust presumably will not interfere with the missions

Another very good target for this week ((which ends with the Thursday morning maintenance)) is HIP 20899.
It has close to 100 settlements, all abandoned and a good mix of them, active outposts* , no bad states for factions.

(which is good since outposts as bases of operations are just perfect since they are faster to dock and take off, faster to navigate since they're smaller and being in the normal operational state it mean you can check both on-foot mission kiosks but also in-ship mission board - Operations section - for restore missions, the 2 boards offer different missions, so easier to pick the ones that have your preferred reward )

Can I use this inara page instead and filtering for recovery state?
Is updated by players anyway but it's more readable than forum threads

Ofc you can, with the caveat that a system that is in Recovery state for more than a week, will have a good chunk (if not all) of the settlements already powered up, but still offering missions to those settlements (hopefully they will fix this bug, but not holding my breath)
So you have to do the extra work of checking the system (sysmap or navpanel) to see if the settlement is indeed abandoned, eventually make a list with the abandoned settlements and pick missions only to those abandoned settlements.

My recommended method of picking only systems that are in the first week of recovery will guarantee that all settlements are indeed abandoned and a valid target for restore missions

So, for today and tomorrow, HIP 20492 and HIP 20899 are both on my short list.
For the next Thargs-week, post maintenance on Thursday, i will check the dedicated thread, see what systems got into PTR, then check them to see how many have settlements, if a multistar system - how far are the settlements, etc

Just playing missions and dropping in to murder lawful settlements for fun, I've 'found' plenty of Suit Schematics - currently, with both Dom & Maverick at G5 I have:

Different playstyle, probably, but it works for me.

The restore missions at thargoid recovery places give up to 5 when they give them. HUGE caveat: they are often broken. So its a gamble if you will actually reap the reward.

Yea, i'm sitting on about 140 suit schematics, spread over 3 accounts, while having at least 4 fully upgraded suits on each account.

Honestly i'm having more issues finding Manufactured Instructions than Suit Schematics - that is, by playing the game as opposed to relog at a crashed satellite
But doing enough missions in PTR systems will eventually get me enough of them (this month i upgraded 3 suits and like 10 weapons or so)

It's not a gamble if you check them before taking the missions OR you make sure you go in a system where all settlements are abandoned.
I just posted 2 or 3 times on this matter on this very page

Yeah, and there were already 3 (or 5) threads about this for the last month...

I still think it's a ridiculous game mechanism 😑

I am on HIP 20899 and the only reactivation mission that provides suit schematics asks me to go to a system where the stations are already active (the usual known bug). I tried to connect again and now there are no more missions that provide SS.
I'm lucky that today is a holiday in Italy, I can play a couple of hours more, otherwise I would have already spent my "session time" just to find, reach the system and to see that there is nothing for me as usual 😒

Just playing missions and dropping in to murder lawful settlements for fun
I’ve found ten SS in the same way in 1 year 😒

By now I’m sure only on one thing: you all have an avalanche of time more than me to devote to this game 😂 for player like me who can play about 2/3 hours a week it’s impossible follow this way of playing 😞 with Frontier that also has to complicate or bugging even the simplest things... bye

Maybe it's better that I give up improving the suits at this point, every time I try I only get anger. I will play randomly as I’ve ever done, maybe it’s the only way for my playtime

Dont take it...
Just take random restore missions and if you're only after Suit Schematics check only the lockers in PWR and CMD buildings. If you dont loot the entire settlement, the mission runs quite fast

I usually pick 6-10 missions
Initially it's better to pick random missions to see the layouts and do all of them (eventually making notes about it and not picking missions in that settlement if the layout is bad for suit schematics), then return get the rewards and pick some more if i still have time.
And if you happen to get a mission offering Suit Schematics as reward, even better - but the most schematics you will get are from looting the lockers i mentioned in one of the previous posts

I started doing missions for the MI's.
Its hit and miss but you can get some that offer 5 at a time, was a few months back, but again i took missions in ORRERE from Sharon Lee Free Market.
Some days there was naff all though so just did other stuff, its often the case if you don't look for them a data pad has 4!

O7

Maybe it’s my lucky day.
I’ve found and done 3 mission with SS rewards and found 1 by looting 🙌 for a total of 8 SS.

First time I found SS as reactivations reward, WOW!

I still hope 😅

For manufacturing instructions the best trick is by relogging again and again on satellite crash site missions.
Same for weapon schematics with cargos and power regulators with crashed ships missions for me 🙂

With all the issues that are fixed with a relog or 6, it seems re-logging is indeed playing as intended. I embraced re-logging years ago :)

I'm considering a post on the suggestions forum requesting a quick re-log button. I don't quite know how to write it without seeming sarcastic though.

Nah, not necessarily
I got 20 Mi out of 4 missions (as rewards), all picked within 15 minutes :)
Just my luck

(and i failed the 5th by forgetting to raise shields while engaging a pack of scavs that had 2 snipers amongst them, oh well, sh.t happens)

well, looks like the best place for recovery missions in this tick is Bormuninus system - many odyssey settlements + 4 fully functional ports
