I suspect it's about fire? I got stuck at the plains and didn't enjoy it so much anymore. I think the Black Forest was my fav. Running through the woods at night. Mountain was nice, too but always very small biome. Swamp well - a necessary evil. When I went fishing in RDR2 it reminded me of fishing in this game.
For any peeps still playing, and for those finding Mistlands to be a bit too claustrophobic, the following two mods work wonders.
The first (MistyBalls) allows you to configure the range of the 'WhispLight' to way beyond the current 6 metre range.
The second mod enables it to be configured in the game.
