Anybody found Braben's in-game secret(s)?

I'm hoping for the old fabled Generation Ships. But I am already too far out exploring 2000+LY to find one of those I guess?!
Other than that... It might be a hint to alien civilization like the thargoids or a lost AI colony. But I do think FD don't want to let those two happening as a coincidence.

MB dropped a clue in another thread

Listen to the Cargo Canisters containing Unknown Artifacts.

Wow, if that's it, we (players) kinda suck. It must be frustrating to litter the universe with clues and watch 400,000 players have too much tunnel-vision to pick up on them :)

A guy in one of the related threads said that 1700LY from Sol would be the outer limit for a ship travelling at C or less (so I assume he checked the timeline of when the earliest ships departed.)

I joined the game after 1.2, which was when the "Non-Celestial" items were supposedly added. I'm approaching roughly 1,000 non-colonized systems now as I try and come back from Sagittarius A*, and I've honked and then looked at the system map for every one... and seen nothing unexpected. My suspicion then is that "Non-Celestial" means exactly that, it won't be on the System Map, but either in a USS or something on a smaller scale. Beyond that, I can't really begin to guess what it could be, or even if it's honestly there.

There you have it.......cargo cannisters in USS's..........

I as a long-range explorer have more chance of being impregnated by a Thargoid than stumbling upon a USS in deep space. Yes, I have no doubt that these USS's can be found muuuuch closer to populated space but in deep space?

Hell no.

I have spent literally tens of hours these past weeks in supercruise without even the hint of a USS. In any event, how on earth does alien tech hitherto undiscovered land up in human cargo cannisters in the first place?

There was a Galnet article recently about alien tech cargo turning up in the Lave system.

Yes I remember that...about two weeks ago...seems to have been deleted now, do you agree? Weird thing is it's not on galnetnews.com or any other site that shows the Galnet news (perhaps they just take a RSS feed).

I don't suppose anyone kept a screenshot?

In another thread someone pointed to HEN 2-333. On the galaxy map you can see that there is something special about it. I've de-selected all factions in the filter and it still shows up. Well, I'm still about 6k ly away and probably won't get there before sunday. Fortunately, this system is almost on my route to Sag*A

Just wanted to let you know. :)

Huh, I happen to be only 1900ly from there.

Course change initiated!
Edit: Course change de-initiated. Sounds like it's just another system with a couple earthlikes. I've found loads of those (yawn)

It looks weird because there are two systems practically on top of eachother.

So, you mean there are two systems at almost the same point that belong to no known faction? Remember, you can de-select all factions in the filter and it does not disappear. That means, it does not belong to None, not to Alliance, not to the Empire, not to the Federation, nor does it belong to any Independent party.

Did I totaly miss something here?!?

Okay. It's a wolf-rayet star that produces a 'planetary nebular' which just always shows up. So, nevermind. I guess I'm too excited about all that 'other things' buzz at the moment. :)

I dunno. If you look at it in realistic view you can see one system overlaid on the other, which appears to have recently exploded.

I don't think the factions make a lot of difference. Dunno. I'm not diverting 4,000ly just to check that out.

I've been looking more carefully since DBOBE's announcement.

This is the only unusual thing I've found so far....Moon number 23.

I love all this mystery and conspiracy stuff - Elite's version of the GTA5 jetpack.

It occurred to me that DB could be referring to planets identified with life. That would qualify, yes? A disappointing thought if true.

The cake is a lie guys. Like the thargoid ship in frontier elite 2.

Or he just means painite and stuff. Which was put in in wings.

No, some of the clues have become pretty specific. Seems unlikely he'd tell players to examine a specific thing if he knew there was nothing about it to notice.

it looks more to me that the problem is "we were way too unobservant" rather than "there will be nothing to observe" (same goes for the people scouring game asset files instead of the game.)

(Oh, also with a dash of "we're way too impatient, and so is FDev", hence the breadcrumbs instead of leaving it for as many weeks or years as necessary.)
