Anyone else hate single player games?

After playing Overwatch for the better part of 2 years I can conclude that Overwatch is Team Fortress 2 for idiots. Unreasonably huge hitboxes, dumbed down game play/abilities and Mei is cancer.

It is however fun...dumb fun..... But a fun arcade shooter.

What's wrong with fun arcade shooter? That's my jam from years passed. Sadly, although I think I could rank above the 50% mark, I feel slower and worse for wear these days and kinda avoid TF stuff...who wants to be 70% ol' reliable but not clutch? Meh.

Most modern multi player titles have single player tacked on as an afterthought with the amount of content you got for free with a shareware demo in the past. Only that you are now meant to pay 60-70 bucks for that. Titanfall 2 is a prime example (and its multi player is almost dead now, of course).

Yes, Titanfall 2 is a very good example.
I am interested in its single player campaign, and I will buy that game for sure.
But as the sp campaign is quite short (5 hours), I will buy TF2 when the price drops below 10 bucks. It is almost there :).

If they had taken the trouble to create a solid and lengthy singleplayer campaign (minimum 12 hours) I would have bought TF 2 on the day of release at full price.

Nothing is wrong with a good ol arcade shooter. I think Overwatch has no place as a "e-sport" though. At least in tf2 you had to actually practice at getting good at things like rocket jumping, in overwatch it's just built in. The private custom servers were also a bonus vs. Blizzard removing player agency.

what happens when you cant get an internet connection

Or when there are no other players

For practical purposes Elite is single player. You hardly meet anyone and when you do they rob you.

There should be something like fuel rats but to form wings or team up for situations

You can't play ED without internet connection neither.

The physical edition was already at 10 bucks a year ago, when they were clearing out stock. Still too expensive for something you sit though in a single weekend.

Titanfall 2 is classic example of something you wait for to appear in the $1 tier of the Humble Bundle. This might even put new life its MP.

Indeed. Once Frontier shuts down the servers, the ED game is entirely gone and you are stuck with Elite 1984. [haha]

Oh I gotcha. Yeah, I think it's just because e-sports is the defacto thing to make money. But really you could give two echelons, skill-based and just Smash TV.
