Anyone familiar with using Virpil grip and throttle. Elite doesn't see them.

Just got the Virpil Constellation Alpha-R grip with the Warbrd base, as well as the 50 CM2 throttle and elite doesn't see any Virpil hardware.
Is there a control setting for Virpil in Elite?
When I go to controls in Elite I only see MK and generic joystick.
My computer see's the throttle and the grip, so that's something at least.
When I use the VPC virpil software I am also have problems. When I create a profile and save and then reopen the VPC Joystick setup it too doesn't see what I saved as profile.
It might just be a problem with the Virpil software I am not sure.
Just wondering if anyone else has had Virpil problems and elite?

ED doesn't 'see' any controllers using the bindings files, check whether you can actuallly bind any of the controls to an action and then create your own bindings file.

Yeah I tried that. When I click a button on the grip or throttle ED doesn't see them. Nothing happens.

sorry don't own one but a here's a something you may like to try first
if a steam user check your controller settings in big picture mode ie try the different settings there to see if it is recognized
I assume you have installed the virpil drivers and software if any, and windows does recognize the device first?

When you run the Virpil Joystick tester, do all the analog axes and button inputs show up? If not, then you've configured the device incorrectly. If that checks out, Elite should see all the analog axes and some of the buttons.

Elite will not show a profile that specifically names the Virpil hardware. It will simply store your configuation under "custom".

Elite also won't recognize any button inputs that are greater than #32. Most people get around this by using software such as Vjoy, Joystick Gremlin, or JoyToKey. Personally, I use JoyToKey to remap the higher number inputs to keyboard presses.

Ok yes the firmware and software was installed. After correspondence with Virpil I have to load and create a profile for each device individually, one at a time.
In looking at Steam big picture it does show the 2 controllers are active.

The devices show up in 'devices and printer' in control panel but they do not show up in 'device manager'
However Virpil Control software I keep getting a message saying 'You have too many USB's active, please do install with removing other devices'.
Looks like the grip and throttle devices is overloading my available USB's.
Not sure my setup will work well.
Never had this problem with Thrustmaster Warthog.
Looks like the Virpil devices need more power that I have available.
Perhaps I will sell and go back to a Warthog.

You're not running all your USB devices through the one hub are you? Maybe you should try moving some to other ports on your computer if you haven't tried that yet.

No not one hub. Use this after I used all the USB inputs on the computer. Not enough USB inputs without the hub.

That's weird because normally a USB 3 controller can supposedly support up to 127 devices.

"A USB host can support up to 127 devices in a "tiered star" formation, but you can run out of bandwidth if you use too many of them at once. Running a video while writing to both drives could be a challenge, for example. You can also run out of power: a USB device can request up to 500mA, but a non-powered hub can only supply 400mA to be shared between four devices. Using powered hubs usually avoids problems. USB devices don't speak unless spoken to, so it shouldn't matter how many you have connected but idle, as long as each one has its own 7-bit address."

Have you got something hooked up that eats a lot of bandwidth?
