One of the fundamental rules of the internet is that wherever a thread pops up to discuss forum rules, someone ends up getting banned.
I wouldn't worry about it - when a thread Godwins itself in the OP, a higher law has been invoked

I prefer a rule set to relate to, what you suggest sounds 100% arbitrary.
Anarchy is an interesting concept, but i don't want to live by it, not even on a forum.
Hello there
As a moderator on another large PC game forum, we dont tend to follow each rule by the exact letter.
Much like a T&C that we all agree to but never read.
On the whole forum rules might sound draconian, but if implemented properly by the staff only serve to assist the forum users in the long term.
Worry not. Tin foil hats off, please.

Now pointless replies like this ^^ should get you an infraction.
Pointless? This entire thread is moderation contestation and I'm shocked it hasn't been closed.
These rules are easy to understand Cmdr's:
Anything not explicitly allowed , is prohibited.
My posts from now on will be yes and no
Then Iam safe (I think)
Cheers Cmdr's
No it's not

I see the new rules as an attempt to stop people (like me) from attempting to hold David to his word as with the new rules you can't say his name but, that's IMO.
Problem is, IMO, if you're all gung-ho ED then you're allowed to run free breaking the rules, if your posting anything negative you get the mod hammer. Try posting a legit complaint on here and see how many fanbois break the rules by insulting, attacking and hijacking a thread but, are allowed to do it until the thread is so de-railed it's not even close to the OP.
IMO, it's another attempt to squash anything other than gleaming positive posts. We've all seen the regular fanbois break the current rules for months without any repercussions while the other side receive infractions all the time.
Another favorite of mine are threads closed by mods that "don't see this going anywhere" or in other words, they don't like the topic so just close it.

Really? Equating the moderator rules to Nazis by saying "Heil Frontier!" isn't moderation contesting? Perfect example of mods picking and choosing what rules to enforce and what ones they dont want to.

FD should just have one rule:
Anything we don't like or anyone we don't like will be banned. Simple, honest and easy.
It's feedback that I can act upon and use for the future.Pointless? This entire thread is moderation contestation and I'm shocked it hasn't been closed.

Then there's no point having them.As a moderator on another large PC game forum, we dont tend to follow each rule by the exact letter.
