Anyone Using Track IR?

That's what I have too.

But even with that, it flat-out doesn't work if the sun is shining. I'm not talking about direct sunshine on the clip or the camera - I even have the (non blackout) curtains drawn, but as soon as the sun comes out, the game starts spinning around and around like crazy. Other than buying blackout curtains/blinds, the only solution is to turn off head-tracking.

There is an adjustment in Advanced options.....(Not sure what it is called), but i raised a support case with TrackIR and they told me to adjust this right up. It cured my sunlight issue, but if your Track Camera faces a bright sunny window, then you have no hope apart from a heavy curtain or blinds!

I can't see how they can possibly justify the ridiculous price tag on trackir, can anyone explain as to why its so expensive?

Agreed it is expensive, but by heck it is GREAT to have, just looking to the right or left brings up the UI Panels, this is so quick in selecting things in battle!!

It is the next step down from Rift!

Guys, just bought a track IR 4 from ebay, comes with the cap clip. Have no idea what to do with it, but I do know I hate wearing caps. Ideas?
Personally, I like the cap clip. No wires and it works well for me. I don't always wear a headset. Only problem is the strange looks I've gotten when answering the door and one trip to the store when I forgot I was wearing it. ;-)

If you tie the trackIR cable to your Headset cable......No Issues....Simples ;)

TrackIR is gold, gives a perfect sense og where your nose is pointing when looking out the window for a target. Being able to follow the twisting and turning and setting up for deflection shots, priceless....

Does seem a bit steep. Limited market and lack of real competition it seems to me. On the plus side, it just works which is worth a lot to me. I looked at the dyi projects which also appear to work well but all involve wires of some sort.

More often than not, I don't wear a headset. When I do, it's wireless too. :)

Ha ha, lol ... I've done that. Had to tell a gas meter reading bloke to go away once (I was right in the middle of doing the Sagittarius A* Buckyball Run) and I got the weirdest look from him :)

If i knew i had to wear a silly plastic cap thing i wouldnt have bought it :S to late now, so ill report back.

If you go back literally one page, there's a picture showing how to use the TrackIR with the track clip and a headset. Besides, it's more precise than the metal clip anyway.

I''ve been playing with my Track IR 4 for a couple of days now with the little cap bracket. It's now at the stage where it feels weird playing without it, what a lovely investment! It's second hand so I don't know how long it will last but it's the best piece of kit I've bought for a while, now looking for other awesome games I can use it with!

Originally got mine for ArmA 3. Ever since I've used it in FSX, DayZ, NFS games, Take on Helicopters, and this. Absolutely adore this piece of kit. Couldn't play without!

Couldn't agree more, now all I need is a bigger monitor and I'm sorted :D

Any good chilled out flight simulators?

I love the hat clip. For so many reasons!

We don't all use headsets. Also, we don't all sit at a desk...

Regardless, I found my pro clip thing was constantly getting ripped off my head by my cats during particularly heated combat situations. Seems the cable swinging around so much was something they could not resist attacking...

Z...

I have always liked Flight Simulator X. Steam edition is easy to use and it has a huge range in the different communities: realistic flight servers where you can simulate all the ATC (air traffic control) communication with real people who play as the ATC people , or you can just mess around and fly in stunt planes with your friends!

The game is old but it looks good. The stock planes aren't totally 1:1 in their controls but if you like realism you can easily source some community-made planes with all the controls.

Graphics in FSX aren't top notch but it's still awe-inspiring when you're flying a 747 across Europe at 30,000ft. Very chill game. You can even have a friend join a server as your co-pilot and you can fly together!

Try this

If all you need it for is elite then it's perfect. It doesn't do 6DOF but the elite doesn't support that anyway. I've been using it for a while and it's great, I have literally no complaints with it. And at £40 it's a helluva lot cheeper than Track Ir.

Without reading the thread, I bet there is not one bad review in here of the Track IR.

It is game changing. Impossible to fly without it once you have one.

Agreed, although I use a cheap version i.e. The DelanClip with a PS Eye (PS3) Camera and FaceTrackNoIR on 3 Point LED Track IR Mode. Works a treat!
