At 0:09 in the trailer...Why the ship is still moving while the FSD is activated with the animation sequence to do the jump? It never worked like that. Perhaps they did that for the trailer only?
Maybe space based anomalies?
Like wormholes and such, even if it's just eye candy.
Or perhaps, it is just unusual coloured rocks?
Space jewelry!
I believe we've encountered the middle of this conversation.I don't think its a planetary nebula. In the beta I visited a known planetary nebula and I didn't get any Codex discovery popup, nor did it put any entries into the Codex either. Although having planetary nebula as an entry in the Codex isn't a bad idea honestly.
No, this white thing is something else in my opinion....
Also in the trailer was mention (in the squadrons part) of "anomalies".
42 secs in.
And one of the crystal thingys looks to have dropped a spike.
So.. what is it?
And for those who don't know what it is:
Similar thing happened to me when Thargoid EMP hited me at the exact second when I jumped to SC.
That thing from the trailer is the wormhole used by Thargoid mother-ships (Thargoid wake)

Live build:
I have several "horny" pictures like that one to the right from different wakes.
If the game ever manages to put me into an instance with a dozen other players for some group activity (which, presumably, might put me up against another dozen opposing players) I will be very, very, impressed.
Frankly, I don't believe that'll be possible.
You should have done some of the alien storyline - there was often something like that that number of players around. I think some of the exploration trips had even more.
The trailer showed a Mamba doing exploration stuff to showcase the exploration updates, then it showed a Mamba doing mining stuff to showcase the mining updates, then it showed a Mamba meeting up with a dozen or so other ships in order to showcase the new "squadrons" stuff.

"So what is it?"![]()
Check Distant Worlds expedition. They've managed something like 50 commanders in an instance.
