Patch Notes Update April Update - Patch Notes

1. Start the launcher directly out of the Elite directory, select E: D (non horizons) and the "Play" button will turn into an "Upgrade" button
2. Let that mysterious upgrade run through
3. Close the launcher
4. Start up the launcher from a desktop shortcut or from within Steam like before
5. Done...

Except… you will be always logged in automatically, afaik there's no way around that

Edit: this solution was developed by Cmdr RexKraemer, so kudos to him
Tried that, didn't work.

I tried the T-10 with AutoLaunch and Docking ..... works well enough ! Good for photo ops.

Did I notice a new announcer at Jameson ?

Well to be fair, I've literally been saying the same thing for over 3 years now.
How so?
I consider myself a small ship pilot in exile who has been forced to fly medium ships. Small ships are the most fun to fly because they require the most stick handling skill to even survive. If I could just fly an SLF by itself through the galaxy with no mothership (or at least being able to dismiss it) that is the dream. So of course I have been pushing for Frontier to finally add a purpose for small ships in PVP. Similar to what the current SLFs have now, with almost no success so far. I'd never expect this to come in a single patch, but tbh, this patch had the potential to make it slightly possible for high skill small ship pilots to finally take on large ship pilots without resorting to cheesy tactics like mines (which just don't have that star wars x-wing vs a star destroyer feel).

As for the PVP community, and PH backpedalling. Lol. Nice zing, points for that. But very inaccurate. 1) because it works, I've done it. Nothing you say will convince me that I didn't do it already repeatedly, in actual PVP. Unless PD were nerfed in the last year or so, it's still possible. 2) as I said already, for me this has nothing to do with drag munitions itself. You guys are splashing around a pro-small-ship rock that has been in the same place for 3 years, long before this silly patch. Feel free to keep splashing. I'll still be in the same place long after this patch cycle has run its course.

Odd, sorry to hear that :-/
I'm sure they'll get around to fixing it eventually (but I won't hold my breath). There're workarounds so it's not impossible to play, and since I'm waiting on spares to fix my HOTAS, I wouldn't be doing much serious flying til the weekend at the earliest anyway. It would have been nice to log in and have a look around without fiddling with shortcuts though.

Not to mention they haven't even fixed the inability to reconnect to the adjudication server bug. So we can't even fully enjoy the new update.

While you're OT and in the middle of a PVP, can someone plz explain to me (just in a few words), why reverski is frowned upon?

Thanks in advance ;)

Well while I'm waiting for the adjudication servers to work, at least I'm getting a good sampling of the main menu and the loading screen tips.

I like those, but I'd love to see the rest...

Small ships are a waste of wing slot in PvP. They dont have the DPS to be viable, and either are kiting the whole time or dead so even less DPS.

Hm, some 800 fixes - but noone thought to fix the highly visible "Codex fails to display number of CMDR discoveries in other Sectors" or the time-wasting "FSS Scanning Planets with Geologicals incur a 15+ sec delay" ?

Just noticing, since I happen to be out in the black. Seriously expected those ones to be fixed.

To be fair to 'em... they probably fix a load of easy-to-fix bugs, and have a go at what harder ones they can. Thing is, without seeing the code, which is 35 years old now and hacked together from BBC BASIC and toenail clippings, it's not a simple call to know which bugs are the easiest to fix.

Erm, how does supercruise work? I have it in my ship but it does nothing. Do I need to buy advanced docking comp. as well?

It takes now up to 7 minutes to buy (and later sell) a cutter-load of commodities, when you use a mouse and up to 45 seconds when using a keyboard, HOTAS or XBOX controller. Before the update there were just 4 seconds needed.
It's an anomaly that must be corrected as soon as possible, the + or - button pressed must increase the purchase speed, as it was previously.

Maybe they aren't quick fixes. Sure would be nice if Fdev were to actually publish a list rather than a summary though, even if it were in a separate thread.

trying out the advanced docking computer it crashed me into colhello station. So I traded in the adc for a standard docking will see if that crashes into the station as well.

I think you're supposed to target the object in the system and move the throttle into the blue zone.

By the way, where did you get yours? I searched all stations in Ceos and Sothis but couldn't find it.

They can be useful for applying grom especially if stealthed and a few other use cases. Sure mambas and clippers probs better for it but I wouldn't call them a complete waste. but mostly agreed.
