Patch Notes Update April Update - Patch Notes

It seems like
The underwater shadows in Subnautica (which one would actually expect to shimmer) look one hundred times better than the flashing disco shadows of Elite Dangerous. Heck, most of my PS3 games have better shadows than ED on PS4 😝
Don't know what you're talkin' 'bout. I have Ultra settings on my PC, the shadows look nice. Burn your PS4.

I completed Subnautica (on XBox) last week. First game I have completed in many years. I won’t spoil the ending for you, other than to say ... the butler did it! :ROFLMAO:

Maybe it's time for an Xbox One X if you want to keep playing on console.
I run it in 4k Quality on a 4k tv and it looks great, no elephant leather and nice shadows too.

I have a GTX 1080 Ti, and all on Ultra. My screen can only do 60 FPS, so I limit the game to 60 FPS. They were completely stable before patch - and are stable now after patch.
I read here 2 things:
1) Check the FX setting - this seems to affect only ship trails. Switch it to 'off' and try again.
2) The Cursor setting in the graphic options could be an issue. If you use any of the '3D compatible' options, it could be the problem. Use the system cursor (2D).

I have here FX settings on 'Ultra', and the 2D Cursor, which is default. Maybe this helps...
No.. I'm afraid I've got to disagree with your point (1) For sure the FX quality setting is the 'fix' for this bug BUT... you check... the FX setting effects way, way more than ship trails...just (for starters) sit in a smoky space port with FX set 'on' then swirtch FX 'OFF' and YOU will see just what I mean...it strips away ALL the smoke/mist and vapour effects along with light bloom etc..the detail is just rendered VERY poor with absolutely no 'atmosphere'.

Still, if FX off fixes FPS for now, it's a welcomed workaround. I have CPU and GPU at ~40% and a FPS in stations around 25. Doesn't make any difference if I run medium or low settings. The CPU and GPU load changes, but the FPS is equally bad.

Edit: FX off > My FPS is back. WUUHUU! 🙃

I think there is a restock bug, as it's showing restock everything for 10 cr, but I know everything is on my ship. This has been happening since the update.
Nuuuuu, that's not a "NEW" restock 10CR bug, it's the "OLD" 10CR paintwork bug...

This is what happens when virulent organisms mutate from overuse of antibiotics ;)

So I experienced some drag munitions firsthand tonight.

Not quite as bad as I expected, but I was in a small, quick vulture. I could usually keep enough space to avoid missiles. Did not test frags.

My main concern still lies with bigger, slower mediums.

While this may have been intended to slow those FDLs/Mambas etc down a little —get them to hold still, or what have you— the effects it may have on my previously mentioned Python, or a non-FAS Fed medium may be too great for them to remain viable at all. They are already outclassed by FDLs enough as it is.

I understand Fdev intends to revert these changes, and I am glad. However, if the latest change to drag didn’t completely prevent boosting, and instead made boosting a little less effective, perhaps it would have been received a little better.

Actually the most obvious bug is the launcher demanding an update that doesn't exist, going into a loop so one needs to bypass it to even start the game. It's been there more than a week and on the tracker is not even acknowledged yet.
