Aquatic animal pass through fences

01.JPG

When two water enclosures are separated by a fence, my aquatic animals (Crocodiles / Gharials / Grey Seals etc) pass through like if there were nothing. Even if I put a ton of physical objects, they don't care ! One other surprising thing is that the escape alarm sounds only few minutes later.

Do you have this issue too  ? I'm very embarassed, because my enclosure are built in a giant lake around my zoo, and I can't remove the water without destroy anything :/ !
Thanks !

It's a bug that came with the Aquatic Pack and either still hasn't been fixed completely or was reintroduced with the last update/dlc...

Had the same problem when playing the timed scenarios yesterday, really annoying but I guess there's nothing we can do but wait for it to finally be fixed. Until then maybe play another zoo and try to build habitats with lakes that don't reach the barriers.

Hmmm, okay thanks, it's very annoying to buy a pack with 4 animals and don't be able to use them because it bugs since four months :/
Thanks for your answer !

I can't change the water enclosures of my huge park, and I can't stop what I'm doing every 30s because an animal escaped. I'm going to be bankrupt (1000 $ each time !)... Honestly, it breaks my heart but I can't continue to play Planet Zoo until an update about this :'(

Can't you like put those few animals in the TC for a while until it's fixed? Or maybe give them new habitats that have a lake in the middle without any barriers nearby? That's what I'd do at least.

Ah man, that's bad yeah...maybe you could try to place some rocks along those barriers? Add them to a building group so you can easily delete them again later on. I don't think they can swimm through those as well, so it might be worth a try.

Thanks for your suggestion, but I've already tried to put large objects to test in the first screenshot, the same issue still :/
Hope an update will come very soon to fix it :/

It's also an issue for one of the later career levels with the big lake in the middle.
Money is already very tight so having these escape all the time makes things a lot harder.

It happens all the Time on some Days with the Penguins in my Zoo. It can be so annoying sometimes. They clipp all the Time and sometimes they end up in Places where they'll just starve because the Vet either can't reach them or has too much to do with the other 20 escaped Penguins. Can you add a Issue Tracker Report to your Opening Post? Normally it's rare that they get confirmed but I assume a lot of People will contribute when it is about such a Game breaking Problem

I'm having the same issue. I have an invisible fence on the water covered by rocks, but my gharials escape because they just pass through the rocks. It is basically the same setup that Antonin showed. My zoo is focused on crocodiles and it will have a lot of exhibits divided by elevated paths.

Here's my gharial with some special habilities ;)

This is how it looks without water. A normal gharial should not be able to pass through this ;) :

I'm pretty sure there have been multiple reports by now since this has been a problem ever since the aquatic pack came out and it's still not fixed, so I highly doubt adding yet another report will help. There have also been a ton of posts about the problem here and across other platforms, still nothing and animals keep swimming through everything. Happened with my Gharial in the new timed scenario as well btw, it kept swimming into the river. Thankfully I finished it shortly after getting that animal and didn't have to deal with it any longer.

That Rockwall is absolutely beautiful

Anything new about this bug? It is very annoying. My crokodiles don't seem to notice the underwater barriers. They just clip through glas, beton or whatever barrier or object I put there. They clip through rocks and plants. There is no escape-point and I get an escape-message not right away, but when they are really, really far away from there enclosure, somewhere in the middle of my large lake.
It happens also with gharials and kaimans (didn't check the other aquatic animals)

It keeps happening unfortunately, it's still annoying...
Please devs, do somthing, the Aquatic Pack is ruined with this bug :/

I think if Frontier needs to find a Way to replicate the Problem first, it would be best to put many Penguins in a relatively small Enclosure with a Underwater Viewing Area. The more Penguins are in there the more often it happens 👍

It happens all the time, so you don't even need to "stuff" your enclosure with animals and you need no viewing area. All you need is a larger waterbody (river or lake) and an enclosure somewhere inside.

It really ruins my fun with aquatic animals, because now I spend nearly all my time with searching for wandering crocs and gharials :(
I turned off animal fights because of that, because I don't want to know what happens if they meet...

FYI, in my case, my crocodiles are always escaping in the hippos and flamingos enclosure, and I’ve never had any attack. Like if they even don’t see others animals, just escaping. But, of course, it still deadly annoying.
