Not sure if I should post the route in the open :)

You can either land at a station in the system to nominate and do it via Power contact or through the Prep tab in the Archon Power window

We're about 80 ahead in Cuchua on my screen

You know, I like watching the situation in your space. The way I see it, either you guys are broken by the Imperial offensive, which is interesting to witness but bad for Utopia, or you survive, the Davy Jones people get bored, and you get back on track with eliminating Patreus. Either way, it's fascinating from the sidelines.

We never had any plans to eliminate Patreus. In fact I think the only plan we ever vaguely discussed was attacking Utopia :)
The reality is we haven't actually had a focused attack on anybody.

We can't resist stirring trouble in Cuchua simply because Patreus seems to be so paranoid about it and keeps trying to expand there.

From their reddit:

Since we didn't get some of our Expansion systems last time, they are now available for our Preparation efforts once again. Cuchua is a top priority system here, just because we want to shut outsiders out of taking this system which is right in the middle of our space.

The Cuchua Situation:

I'm sure you've all seen Archon Delaine's Kumo Crew crowing over the current situation in Cuchua. For those commanders who've just got back from a trip to Sagittarius A*, let me summarise: the Kumo Crew are delighted that we are currently in a Prep war with them over Cuchua, because, as they say, they will be drawing our efforts away from Expansion and into investing in this Prep war. This is ideal for them because they want us to fail to Expand and thus be kicked out of Powerplay. Even if we win the Prep war, they get to draw away our efforts from Expansion, and if they win, they're already planning on using Cuchua as a forward base to launch assaults on the Empire.

Oh, I'm aware that you guys never intended to wipe out Patreus, but you put a LOT of pressure on them a few weeks ago - if you kept up that pleasure they'd be in a lot of trouble, seeing how their activity dropped even more than yours.

We do what we can. We need the empire for profits but we despise them for their Imperialism. It's a hard life.

I think Archon need a good PR stunt. Something to attract a lot of disgruntled players to them. Many of the other factions such as my own are split by political arguments and disputes, and there is a certain amount of shifting between factions, but from what I have witnessed, hardly any move to Archon. This is generally for a few reasons, the reputation of Archon's power play weapon and 'that slavery thing' (there are many pirates in the ranks of other factions just because of the slavery thing).
The pirates in this game got stiffed by power play because the only faction that remotely resembled being anarchic and 'free' was Archon. However, Archon is also a slaver. Sure, there are a bunch of people signed up for ALD and the other pro-slavers too, however, they are a different animal - imperialist slavers. Nonetheless, a slaver Archon is and so if you want to be part of power play but not be part of a 'self righteous' structural organisation, he is your choice.
What would be great - and I'm hoping it is something FD will do - is have a sudden revelation that Archon is not a slaver; that Archon has been stitched up by the history books of Feds and Empire to cause the current power-play gang bang we see at the moment. This would cause all those Archon sympathisers like myself, who are tired of hypocritical tyrants they are working for, Fed and Empire alike, to come and fight for the underdog.
In some ways, it's a real shame the Code separated from Archon because that was great for PR. The rest of us factions knew we could outnumber and undermine you guys in PP as it was obvious that you were the 'transparent' enemy for every other faction more or less, but nobody entered Archon space without a healthy respect for the Code.
To sum it up, I don't think it would take much for a lot of players to defect to you but it's finding the right PR angle for it.

The thing with Patreus was only ever for fun in my eyes. We were playing a game, they saw it as aggression.

Eh, doesn't make much difference now. It happened, is happening and it's fun. :D

Honestly, some of us in the Kumo Crew aren't really comfortable being called slavers either. I'm certainly not, and haul 'Marked Slaves' (a label that I like to believe in the lore was applied by someone OUTSIDE of the pirates and Delaine found it amusing enough to use) only because it's how we fortify... and I want us to be secure to have our personal freedom.

For me, it's about that. Personal freedom as dictated by myself. I don't need to have laws telling me to do nice things, I decide to do them myself. And yes, I actually do nice things - love chatting to other factions' commanders in game and genuinely not attempting to blow each other up. It's one of my favourite things to do in-game. :D

We are definitely aware we need an increase in the player base. Having said that, we are trying to take this time to re organize a little as well.

As for the right PR angle...slaves, what slaves?

It's unfortunate in my perspective, but as a piracy syndicate, we go where there is reward and loot. PP is the opposite, it punishes players for putting in hours of mindless PvE grinding, which irritates a PvP focused piracy syndicate to no end. The Code crew is very unhappy with PP for that it takes the fun away from what they joined for (piracy, player interaction), thus the Captain acted in the best interest of the crew and collected consensus to leave Archon.

Also, that Cytoscrambler, I don't really have to explain.

Personally, my motivation is the support of the ethos and political stand Archon Delaine holds, thus why I am still here.

It makes sense :( maybe one day they will change the system slightly. Glad you stuck around although even for you Fang you kind of took an alternative route.

What would be the chances of petitioning Frontier to change marked slaves to something else. I'm thinking drugs such as onionhead (or even PAGAN's hallucinogenic love drugs of dragnet fame at a push :D).

If we could come up with a narrative, would they be receptive to changing it? This is RP stuff and Galnet usage.

I'm not bothered that much by the slaves personally.

Might be worth a concerted effort. Most people pro slaves join the imperials. Even with the slaves I've been linking them to wise to political dissidents and as a form of punishment as opposed to something truly systematic. It hasn't really helped so far hahahah. We do need to figure out a recruiting method though!

I'm bothered by the slaves, or lack there of.
Delaines fortification goods are called Marked Slaves, this has absolutely no in game importance, so I don't care what they are called.
They are legal in every system in the game, if no jurisdiction in the galaxy makes them illegal, I can't understand how any player can have a problem.

Once you deliver these legal everywhere slaves where do they go?

No power makes slavery illegal. Aisling and Winters make Imperial Slaves Illegal, but they do not change anything with normal slaves.
Neither does Archon Delaine.

If you could actually buy slaves everywhere then its fair to call him a slaver, you can't, and there is no money to be made in slavery, Imperial Slavery is another matter.

Current progress, big turn around :)
