Yeah the whole Marked Slaves thing is interesting. For they be more like hostages, most of whom will be executed. I'm sure many will argue that the difference is narrow but there be a difference. Slaves are servants and laborers, slavery is an economic and social force. The Archon's Marked Slaves are the object lessons of our enforcers. Perhaps the Archon has been amused by this name. I like to think it a sardonic stab; hanging a legitimate face on our retribution against traitors and yellow dogs, at the expense of the Imps. But maybe his sense of humor is working against him with those who would be our natural allies.

Aye a point to think about.

Hey Kumo Crew,
Cmdr Derrida is right. It's time to start recruiting just not mass recruiting.
I already been thinking all week about this.

Keep doing what you are doing in this thread. It's coming on nicely and I think alot of players are watching us.
The way this Power is developing from within is very interesting. Ofc it's cos I think like many of you do but I think there is many like us out there.
Keep up the good work.

I'm going to have a think about this. I see them more as hostages that are ransomed or kept in a Gulag to ensure cooperation of the system's citizens.

I might do an information piece on this and also proper piracy (i.e not murder) and then distribute it on Reddit.

Probably after this cycle though.

Don't forget to mention us who are mainly concerned with the fair distribution of high demand, hard to obtain goods!

I just want to say it again, Marked Slaves are legal everywhere in the galaxy.

You have Slaves, illegal nearly everywhere, Imperial slaves, which seem to be more like indentured servants, and you have Marked Slaves which are so far from being even indentured servants that they are legal everywhere.

Good to see some others chiming in :)
And Fergal - GREAT NEWS on the turn around. Perhaps it's a time zone thing in terms of when we are on and they are not - or perhaps we're just better :D Not sure. I have a little time now and I'm going to do a few more runs to Cuchua and Ngbato. Of course, I'm learning some new keyboard control set ups so I might just crash and burn on the way in and out of the stations :D #FailPirate

OK. I understand and see your point.

What's Archon doing with them - I thought he was talking then from systems to be tortured and executed. This is slightly different from traditional slavery, in which the person is kept in bondage for long term use. The slaves are being used for political purposes rather than just typical slaving.

We're being called slavers whereas that's not really what we are about.

If the idea is rubbish or has no legs, I'll be quite happy to drop it.

(Apologies if this is thread hijacking, maybe I'll stop here).

Go Cuchua! :D

Ngbato is fortified. You can move onto the next one :)

I don't think the idea is rubbish, just marked slaves seem to have a heinous reputation among the players for no reason.

Marked Prisoners is probably more accurate, its not like you can buy and sell them.

Fortifying seems to be going well.
Our expansions are going more slowly.
We should probably start to push Mbolgargi if we don't have any significant progress elsewhere soon.

marked prisoners - I like it :) And yes, fortifying this week is much better than last.

REDDIT

I've sent some requests to the old Reddit moderator. (Well our current one.) I've asked him to mod Cy, Fergus or myself. Once one of us is on the mod board we can begin figuring out/organizing things a little better. Just wanted to give you all a heads up.

I think these players are just trying to find any reason to justify their campaign against us, but what they're really doing is just attacking one of the less numerous power just to see what happens if a power is kicked out.
I don't see them going full attack mode on Hudson.
Plus since the empire is self-righteous and arrogant, maybe they're just real good at roleplaying ^^

Why is the legion focusing on Archon delaine and not the federation" we've been listening and as it is part of my plan i will tell everyone in ALD and by default everyone else all the reasons why we got involved in full force into the Pegasi sector. the legion has had plans to unite all the empire powers together and undermine a power into compromise, This will take a very long time so everyone needs to understand that. However the week we were going to start the United Imperial Offensive, Archon delaine attacked the other key power in this Patreus. Patreus doesn't have the largest coordinated player count and they were equally matched against archon. There was no way they could undermine our target with us and defend against delaine, so the legion and those on Patreus's side concluded that Archon delaine must be brought to heel before and the empires flanks secure before we could march on anyone.

So all the Galnet news articles and lies to their own people, they had a secret plan to wipe out the Kumo Crew before Cuchua was attacked, they just used that as the justification.

Did we even start that? How do we know it was Kumo Crew commanders, not just ALD guys who swapped temporarily to create this false flag attack?
It certainly seem convenient that they plan an attack on a distant land, that very little of their supporters would be interested in, then the Kumo Crew tries to Prepare an Imperial System in the middle of Patreus Space, a location that ensures terrible expansion triggers, and easy access to all Imperial players.

New overhead calculation is now being used.
We are about 40cc worse off, so we might need to fortify our 5 most expensive systems, not just 4. No big deal.

Aisling, Winters and Torval are now in turmoil.
Mahon and ALD are still in Turmoil.
Hudson and Sirius are out of Turmoil.

Doesn't surprise me.
"Brought to heel" indeed. NEVER.

The 40cc change in our overheads actually does hurt us a bit.
We can't afford our 4th preparation system.

The third system on our list is next to the second, so we wont get that either, which means we will only get 2 preparations, and one of them is Cuchua which we may not get, so we might only get 1 system to expand to.

I will start prepping Amaitsa to try to push it into 3rd where we can afford it.

Good idea.

Our system prep is slowing down but I also feel we're still focussed so with the right communication we can get what's needed. Next week might be tough expansion wise, we'll see. :/ Thanks for the input on CC changes, I had forgotten that.
