are thargoids basically end game for super players

If old lore is still valid, they live in Witch Space, and can therefore drop out wherever they want in our space.

Ergo...the concept of "from which direction they're coming" is somewhat redundant. They'll be coming from everywhere.

Able to hover in Witchspace, not live there. :)

If the Thargoids, or whatever alien race we get, are in fact hostile.

Please please please please make them a force to be reckoned with.
And please don't bow to the 'nerfers'.

That said, please do make it so escape is still possible(if done soon enough), or that simply isn't fun gameplay for anyone, if atracks are random like the original. :)

Also, don't give then Pilots Federation rankings! Lol

I wanna see "expected threat level" or something, using a different scale, like Low, Medium, High, Extreme. Lol

But yeah, if we want to engage these aliens, make it like something we've not seen before.

I'm looking forward to it!

I'm gonna park my Python(s), and FDL(and maybe a Corvette if i ever get one) at Sol, and protect it with my life(s)…!
But only Mondays and Wednesdays

Why does this scare me?

because things that make Michael smile include:

CiuwPFiVAAI1nk-.jpg

Truly terrifying. I think we're in good hands for some alien horror goodness.

I'm more worried by the guy in the t-shirt saying "free hugs"

Serious , and back on topic.

Thargoid war should be something along the lines of short CGs (3 days sounds about right) of "defend such and such a system from the on-coming thargoid menace, run supplies to the stations, fight in the CZs nearby, carry refugees away" etc
All the time the Galnet news feed is going bonkers with
"Today, the last station/base in Sothis to hold out went silent, we can only assume the Thargoids are in full control, Ceos came under heavy attack, as well as Ikara, and HIP 30923, it looks as re-enforcements will be needed at HIP 30923 in the coming days while a spokesperson for the Federal navy has said that Ikara will be abandoned by the combined naval force in light that its surrounded on 3 sides by Thargoid controlled systems"

Combine the above with constant "run supplies to the building program at Jaques" CG (which pays out weekly)... which the Thargoids will get wind of and try interdicting you on the long trip to Jaques

Bill

All system names are made up to fill out the example

I fought up to four Thargoid motherships at the same time in my Cobra Mk 3 when I was young. And I survived. ;)

Now I am worried.

Noooo, FD are primarily Fed based, that's why all my ships are in Sol :D
It's funny that some people think FD are Fed biased, in the past I've practically accused them of Imperial bias, especially Michael.

who knows that smiley from MB could be an indication that moving ships into the empire capital is a good idea ... :)

It's a deliberately ambiguous statement. My personal view is that it may be better to move away from any of the major political centres.

Or a very bad one ...
Indeed

Is that an imperial loving Frontier smile? Or a toothy predatory grin before a light snack?

Look at the design of the axe, which side do you think?

If only we could build our own bases. I've found this perfect little spot just a little bit out of the way. I'd love to build a base there just to sit out the inevitable disaster. Heck I'd even invite a few people along as long as they were discrete. The system I have in mind has an ELW, a whole stack of high metal and metal rich planets including a terraforming candidate, a pristine metal rich ring around a gas giantand a wide range of interesting elements on the numerous landable planets.

Who said that the wreckage was a small Thargoid ship? Are we sure it was a ship? What if it's just a Thargoid exo-skeleton?

Always log out in your strongest ship. You could be logging back in to a debris field that used to be a station.

I'm hoping there will be smaller Thargoids that newer and less experienced players can take on, medium thargoid ships for those with bigger ships and experience, and then motherships which require wings of experienced players to take on.
Me too

I'd like to see Cap ships moving during combat. Even alien Caps. Lets get some grand scale warzones on the go with Caps trying to ram each other. Very slowly, ofcourse.
