Are you working towards 5 billion credits ?

I mined every day for around 4-5 hours with a 2 day break after the 4th time and made 900 million on the 5th day and made plenty of credits and now standing at 7.2 billion to do some good testing on Xbox.View attachment 171379

I've half-heartedly had a go at saving up. Currently doing LTD mining in a triple hotspot, though I've only recently maxed out the cargo size on my Python.
I usually do a couple of runs, get bored and then do other things in the game before going back to mining.
I don't expect to have 5 billion by the time the FCs come out, though I reckon that they won't cost that much when it goes live.
Best case, they're cheaper and I have the money.
Worst case, I don't have enough cash but have plenty to upgrade my ships. I'll can also leave the bug finding to those who can afford it.

I take it there's not other get rich schemes more profitable than LTD / VO mining?

Don't worry everyone. By the time FCs are released in June any ol' average Joe will be able go from a Sidewinder to an FC in a matter of hours. They won't be anything to be proud of because everyone will have one. With all the crying and whining going on FDev will cave to the LCD.

I’m thinking the exact opposite.
While I do think the price is excessive, it would make more sense if one type was locked behind squadrons (with some other access point) and another type for rank progression.

Credits wise...maintenance costs need changes too

Being proud of a having a Fleet Carrier is in all honesty a bit sad isn't it, really, no matter what the in game price or cost in grinding and activity looping... it's just a game, they're pretend, there's a few things I am proud of in my life but certainly none of them are fictional.

I once blew off so loudly I made the cat jump. We all have the right to be proud of our accomplishments, no matter how insignificant they are to others

You don't have to feel bad for playing video games. It's okay really.

:D S
I don't, but equally I understand it's about pressing the buttons that the program writers require... and with so many "how to do it's" on the interweb I don't feel elated for being able to complete the task.
😐

In all seriousness though, it's just a game to me, and I actually get more pleasure from Baldurs Gate!

My cats blow off so quietly that I don't know until it seeps up my nostrils... boy do I know then! (not sure if the cats consider that an achievement though, but you never know with cats)

Well, made it back home to Colonia in time for the snapshot. So anything from here on out on the live server is just more credits in the bank for when they show up.

I mean its can have its uses and id be cool to have my own personal station however 5 billion credits at base, i need a cg, i need to plunder more people=)

I will confess I'm definitely enjoying the change from switching from exploration way out on the edge of the galaxy, to single-hop passenger missions. It may not be as cool as dropping into NSPs not certain what I'll find, but it's just more laid back, and pays a lot better (13m credits per jump - in 20 jumps I make what I did out of thousands of systems' worth of exploration out there), and it's easy to just stop at a station, rather than feeling like I need to go and check that one more system.

I don't plan on getting a carrier, but I'm very interested in how they pan out. I'm sure the player base will find very imaginative ways of using them (such as the deep space network), unforseen by fdev.
The rate at which credits can be earnt now means that I could conceivably buy one next year or the year after with normal play. I'm happy enough with that.
I do think that working towards a goal (at whatever rate you choose) is good; when I was playing at the start I never thought I'd get a conda. When I did eventually buy one I did feel a sense of achievement. Funnily enough, I mostly fly the smaller ships now, my favourite being the lovely keelback 😁

Why?

Out of curiosity, are you planning on grinding at least double the cost just so you "have enough" to pay the weekly multi million credit sink upkeep? What will you do when you finally tire of all the grind it will take (especially if grinding detracts from other game play loops like exploring, trading, community events, PP etc etc) just to maintain the FC fuel supply and upkeep?

Basically what happens once you finally succeed in achieving this second only to orgasm personal milestone?

Wonder how many billionaire-turned-broke-millionaire Cmnders are genuinely working their Holo Me souls to death. Just to acquire this pixelated, leviathan monstrosity. Customizing their FCs with the perfect load out setup to make dreamed of millions in credits from lucrative player agency opportunities. Only to discover their credit sink isn't turning a marginal profit since their FC is a ghost town. Because the galaxy is such an infinitely vast place.......
A single mission takes care of the weekly upkeep, such an onerous task.

I have 7.7 billion accrued. I'll buy an FC for the beta.
I'm an explorer, so I'm viewing the beta as a way to test ride a FC, without risking ingame currency.
This is an opportunity, and I appreciate that they are doing the beta on all the platforms.
