ARX store inflation

what, if u r comparing it with mobiles game then yes 💀
Can't believe someone defend this inflation 😂

I would complain if it was above the industry average for cosmetics.

Or u comparing it with star citizen or destiny which is cash grab games
Here is my comparison with other games that didn't do cash grab: nms has free dlcs, bp everytime and warframes is really good example of f2p,

I don't want ED to go F2P though.

For mine, I'm not sure I like the price inflation in the store, but I fully support FDEV trying to improve their revenue stream. It will be a balancing act between charging so much that people become more discerning and end up spending less, and charging so little that they don't make enough revenue for it be worthwhile. Personally, I found previous prices a little high for my liking but the main issue was more cosmetics than I could ever use - many just not compelling enough for me to bother. And packs that contained only one item of interest - I'm not buying a pack for only a single item of interest to me. Will watch future store releases, and their price points, with discerning interest.

I didn't notice the arx inflation when I very recently bought a small pack. I read about it in discord first, then here, but it was already too late.

It bothered me at first, but now, since I didn't really notice it on my own, it's not as abrasive as it was. I just wanted to help support FD in a small way and also have enough to buy the Python 2 if I hear enough good about it. Those goals are done, so I'm not going to waste my energy in hating on it.

But yeah, small increases would have probably been better received by the general populace.

I did a quick trawl through the "content creators" streams today and didn't notice any of them mentioning this Arx store issue. They are all obsessed with the PythonII it would seem.

So that's a successful operation by FDEV then - hide the huge ARX changes (inflation, reduced inventory) behind the smoke screen of "new toy" preview NDA timing.

EDIT - My apologies, I missed the "Galnet News Digest" which did do so: "The cost of customisations has doubled overnight. Grateful commanders are celebrating." LOL

Imagine what could be done if they lowered the prices and increased the offerings and customizations.
Maybe even ship interior customization/paint jobs for cockpits and so on.

Most of those games like Fortnite tho are free. It's a.... bold decision there to charge money for the game (granted not as much as a current AAA game) and then drive the price of cosmetics through the roof.

I mean, who's going to pay €15.99 for enough arx to buy one suit pack?!?!? (25,500 now) I usually buy the big arx pack once a year (€55) to help keep the lights on, won't be doing that from here on in. I should have enough in the wallet to pay for the Python 2 unlock, and then that'll be that for me. Just feels like the price hikes plus the early access decision was Frontier overreaching and crossing the line from "We need to increase revenue" to " it, we're going all out and getting what we can."

(Actually.... wonder if its all a temporary ploy to make the P2 early access seem more palatable and once everyone blags their arx on it, they'll walk back the store prices somewhat. :D )

The new prices would actually make more sense if they plan to make the game F2P - as they don't seem to be planning any further expansions that might be the plan ...

Well, since the Python Mk prebuilt ship costs almost as much as the base game + Odyssey *() they may as well go fully down along that route

* (33k arx, which means a 16 Euro arx pack plus another 6 euro arx pack, 22 euros in total, while the game+expansion sells on steam for 25 euro)

I mean, as a base game player, it;s more expensive to buy the damn ship than to buy Odyssey and get the ship for free on August 7th

Tempted to say something about 'tinfoil'...

if they would put the money back into the game i would support it as well, but currently i think that Frontier is in a bad financial situation. So that money probably get used for other things.
And upping the price of weapon colors or engine colors is just a joke its 0 effort to begin with, just sliding the rgb values of assets that are already ingame.

Elite is more of a AAAA game.

Indeed it is.

I was expecting a modest increase on ship cosmetics and maybe even a decrease on suit/weapon prices to harmonize it all. The actual change, oh well. Brutal and at point in time when there already was quite the stir about the introduction of more pay2win.

Well, my creditcard had an ARXident yesterday, but since all the shipkits and paintjobs for the new ships will now cost me as much as a full price expansion would, I'm even more determined to not pay for the early access as well. I get the ships 3 months later, so be it. Meanwhile I'll have the engineered modules already in storage, waiting.

My gripe is that I made an ARX purchase, the funds have been taken out of my account, but the ARX didn't show up at all.... Anyone else having this issue?
