Interesting idea, but i think that sort of thing will have to wait for EVA which I suspect FD won't do until they do ship interiors... so maybe years away, maybe never.

Despite a long time passed from the OP, I still highly encourage FDevs to implement this feature - anyway it would be fun to see which new bugs it will introduce to the existing mining, suits mechanics and FleetCarrier jumps
