Unless the fellow persists in being in my proximity. Like when someone wants to let the atmosphere out of my ship.

True , but they could if following and sending you Chat messages as well, and that works further , than a 5km bubble Proximity voice chat

You alone , doing your thing THEN interdiction , and your fighting too survive , If your in OPEN , chances are you may spot another player

Now typing in chat 'HELP ME OUT' , while pushing every button you can too keep your ship alive , is not going too happen VOICE is faster easier , when your in a blind panic

During an interdiction the only player you can expect to be within 5km's of, is the one doing the interdiction. You can't navigate towards another player, on purpose, without throwing the mini-game. Once in regular space, you are instanced away from all other players, so no help is coming.

This is even more ill conceived than I first thought.

That doesn't rattle around in my headset, distracting me from my game.

Just chiming in again to reinforce a previous point: the longer this poll stays open, the more it will slant towards "too hard". It inches that way every single day. We're now knee-deep in selection bias, and the poll no longer has any statistical significance. If the mods choose to keep it open indefinitely, it will eventually no longer look like a normal distribution, it will simply look like an upward sloping line. It's now completely meaningless and only caters to those here to complain. Any statistician familiar with polls and the Internet can confirm this.
-
Edit: if the OP, Mods and Community like the poll, I'd like to suggest some similar polls that will skew identically the longer they're left open:
1. Big ship pricing (will skew towards too expensive)
2. Big mod pricing (will skew towards too expensive)
3. Super cruise travel time (will skew towards too long)
4. Fed/Empire ranking (will skew towards too hard/long)
5. Engineer resource collection (will skew towards too much work)
6. Elite ranks (will skew towards too much of a grind)
7. Fuel scooping (will skew towards taking too long)
8. Interdiction frequency/mechanics (will skew towards too hard/tedious)

You get the gist....

No help coming , sums it up ...

Your opinion shows your bias. I can't see how more participation equals 'selection bias'. You're going to have to establish that link before what you say can be validated. Right now it sounds like you just want to discredit a dubious poll, with even more dubious analyses.

What ever.... I acknowledge you as the master of the galaxy. Is that enough?

What are you on about? I don't want to be the master of the universe. I want to fight Elites and get my butt kicked! But there are NO ELITES left in the galaxy. At least not in mine. Please send me a wing invite and show me all of these Elites your are finding so they can kick my butt properly.

This parade of sniveling competents and masters is driving me away from the game.

I've rather decided I wouldn't like to spend my in game time with you. A person who can't accept the word of another, is not my kind of companion.

No worries. :) If you can't prove what you say, then I'll just assume everything you've said up to this point is dubious at best.

Hear hear. Zil accepts his own viewpoint as gospel, and anybody else's as highly suspect.

He isn't trying to debate or solve anything, just defending his own position.

Worthless to debate this type. You could make more headway more quickly on the lavian brandy.

It's very simple, and I've said it before. The Internet, including game forums, is/are overwhelmingly negative. People flock to the Internet to complain; rarely to bestow praise. We, as people, thrive on negativity and conflict. It's why the media reports on conflict and friction more than "the good stuff" that goes on in the world. It's partly why negative Presidential campaigns have more impact than positive ones (though that also has a lot to do with people generally being risk intolerant vs opportunity seeking).
-
Back to FD/games: In the run up to a new game or release, a gaming forum is comprised of people excited for the game - and thus generally more enthusiastic than negative. As it launches, and after a short while, that positivity is leveled out with an influx of complaints and negativity. As several weeks, months or years go by, most of the positive is steamrolled by the negative as people are generally flocking to a site to complain vs bestowing praise. BUT - and this is crucial - that does NOT mean that the majority of gamers are unhappy with the game. At this point, a vocal minority is skewing the result. Want proof? Pick any game that you know to be hugely successful and visit the forum a year following release. From the forum you'd conclude that the game was absolute garbage, yet you know it's hugely successful. It's the vocal minority at work. It's the Internet doing its thing. It's why every single gaming forum/community eventually turns toxic. This forum, for example, is absolutely nothing like it was 1.5 years ago. It's far more negative, far less polite, and - frankly - far less constructive and mature. Welcome to the Internet!

That's literally all I have been trying to do. I even asked Mohrgan to show me his elites so I could figure out why he is getting them, and I can't get any. That he has no interest in solving this problem is nothing I can do anything about. If someone reasonable wants to show me their elites I would be happy to see them.

Or maybe they'll find if they wing up with me, then they'll suddenly only get weaker opponents in SC.

Yes. Because people have an actual thing now instead of marketing and dreams.

Of course stuff is more positive while the devs are saying that everything is great, and nobody can fact check or wants to.

Of course ED has great things about it, but the areas for improvement are more worthwhile to talk about.

To be fair, I could have told you the poll would swing more toward this way too, regardless of it being accurate or otherwise.

Same thing happened with the previous two polls too. Can't even blame it on A Clockwork Orange fanboys. ;)

I think he's referring to the regression to the mean.

It's funny that those of us that aren't having any problem with the NPCs have to go out of our way looking for supporting evidence for those that claim they are... I mean, 'cause the game is totally unplayable now and all.

Speaking of which, here I am in the bubble early to arrive at waypoint 0 of the Crab Nebula Expedition of 3302 with others who are also unable to play the game... [haha]

OK, I lied. The first one was a selfie. :p

Warning: You're about to witness some heinous ultra-violent shenanigans...

Moral of the story, most of us who know the NPCs pose no real threat aren't in hiding and have moved on and are just playing the game in ways we find entertaining instead of raging on the forums. Kind of a shame that the NPCs didn't get more of a much needed upgrade though. But hey, you take what you can get, I guess.

I'm okay with the AI difficulty, since any situation I don't want a fight I run from.

I still think they may need some tweaks, but that is only in terms to making sure that enemy AI is still subject to all of the rules we are as players.

Nice pictures. This game can be very impressive. But to the point; is there any relevance in your post to the discussion, or are you just taking the opportunity to flex? I believe that those that are having trouble have just as much validity to their accounts and opinions as you, or anyone. If that, or finding issues with the game are cause for your derision I think exposes yourself, more than they.

Relevance? I guess just pointing out that this thread has lost a bit of it. I mean, feel free to carry on addressing and inspiring problem solving here all you guys want... ;)
