It seems obvious you're just baiting like a troll now, but it seems a good time to make the point that many if not most griefers are also notorious cheaters. There are countless threads in this forum about players trying to use legitimate PvP to protect "grandma visiting the Eravate grocery store", and as soon as these "oh so dangerous" griefers meet their match, they combat log and then use the block feature to keep players like Adle's Armada from instancing with them. They are the same players who use ramming as an exploit to kill without consequence (which is different than using ramming as a legitimate combat tactic).
Anyway, it's clear this thread is devolving into childish trolling, so I'm tapping out.

And honestly I don't even know what trolling is and don't care.
Maybe I'm too old.
Take it easy. (that definitely goes for you Algo !)
It's just a little humor.
Tongue and cheek no doubt.
The discussion about whether PvP pilots are actually good at piloting is farcical without reference to the PvP League and dedicated PvP groups.
It also needs to take into account the difference between PvP 'footsoldiers' and best-of-the-best.
If you look at the PvP pilots who competed in the final of the most recent (Season 3) PvP League, in vanilla ships except for one g1 mod, their superiority over even other experienced PvP-er was made abundantly evident in every single one of the prior qualifying matches, most of which they steamrolled. And they were steamrolling guys who were in turn put forwards as the best of their own PvP groups, and which in turn would almost certainly be better than groups who didn't compete at all.
As to the question of a fully PvE guy migrating to PvP, we know what happens here because it's happened literally hundreds of times already. Players prominent in groups such as Mobius have migrated to groups such as Adle's Armada, GCI and so on. In so doing they were mentored by players like BreakfastMelon or PoaArctica or even many of the gankstas.
Not one single guy new to PvP, from Solo, from PG, from Mobius, has ever 'schooled the tutors'. It has never happened. After completely one-sided duels, they realise that they don't stand a chance in equal loadouts against those from the best-of-the-best who are willing to give them their time, then according to personality type and the degree of consideration they are shown, either go away disgruntled or stay and learn.
I'm going to have to start reading your posts in calm, docile, soothing tones... [haha]People rage in RL about events in a video game.
<snip>
Take away the engineering and load out, and another cmdrs flight/battle patterns can be unpredictable.
That combined with the excitement of a PvP encounter, mistakes happen.
True
Perhaps all the cmdr's that go to Mobius have made the universe dangerous for new players and traders.
"I got griefed so I'm going to Mobius".
Completely turning your back on the cute little old lady just trying to get her Sidewinder to the grocery store and back.

Yeah, because all the tutors are the same dedicated PvP Leaguers you just mentioned. Not to mention it's probably more common that someone making that migration is newer rather than not with the game.
Oh indeed the tutors / top-tier PvP-leaguers are pretty much the same guys across various groups.
But about the people doing the migration, I was referring specifically to the many Elite-ranked PvE-ers with 1000+ hours already on the clock who have moved into PvP and then changed their games around PvP. This is not a small group and when I was in AA, some time ago now, was already quite a steady flow of potential recruits for us and, I gather, later on for GCI and others. When I was in AA the PvP-ers were ranked 'Dangerous' and the PvE-ers were ranked 'Elite' and there was no doubt who was better at PvP, lol ... and this before RNGineering existed.
Moving forwards, though, and admittedly slightly off-topic (but no thread stays on topic for 12 pages...) one thing that has interested me for some time is the possibility of organising an event that might draw more into at least dabbling in PvP, whilst also permitting us to glory in the original (generally very good) combat balance by doing a weekly thing or similar wherein, for example, only the tiniest handful of mods were permitted, with some structure to keep things fresh, and a billing that this was intended for those newer to PvP. Obviously I'd be trying to apply my longstanding interest in PvP outfitting to make it good (hopefully). I think that could be a lot of fun. Watch this space...

Which is exactly what I'd expect in good-natured gameplay - the top-of-the-brag-chain players getting together to show others "how it's done" and making points off other similarly-equipped and experienced PvPers. Giving other players "a good show" and the chance to brag & show off. At least, that's how we did it in the Olde Days of Gaming.
Because choosing much-weaker opponents is the hallmark of a bully, not a skilled player. Pretty easy to mow down children in a Cadillac; no skill required. "Role-playing" a sociopath is not skilled. Puking out schoolyard toilet-mouth & purposely provacative insults and a seeming focus on bodily excretions and S&M-like sexual/verbal dominance games is not skill.
I really don't admire cowardly gamers, which is what seal-clubbing and similar assorted tricks are - cowardly. It gives the huge lie to the boasting and braggadocio. Why should I believe in someone's "skillz" if their words paint them as an unskilled & malicious boho? Quite simply, I don't, and I believe many people who forgo Open for private groups feel the same. Adults generally don't wish to swim in a urine-filled kiddie pool.
Jesus, where on earth have any of Truesilvers posts ever indicated he's an immature seal-clubber or a bully??Which is exactly what I'd expect in good-natured gameplay - the top-of-the-brag-chain players getting together to show others "how it's done" and making points off other similarly-equipped and experienced PvPers. Honestly not sure if it was directed specifically at him or not, but as jason said, that's a whole lot of hate.
That's some smoking hot negativity right there, relayer. Where's all that hate coming from?
