Autumn DLC Speculation

I see it as Colehunter. Aviaries are not very likely. Of course it could happen but it would be wise not to calculate with them happen soon (or even ever in the game) as it just could lead to frustration.

Also the next game could be PlanetAquarium or PlanetAviary. And also if they added aviary's and then ended development the next year it would leave players upset for 2 possible reasons. 1. they focus on avian animals and dont add highly requested habitat animals. 2. they don't add very many avian birds and leave players wishing for more....

I would personally love a cats and dogs animal pack :)

I would also really love a nocturnal house pack with stuff to make nocturnal houses.
with these animals
Prehensile Tailed Porcupine
Kiwi
Cape Genet
Pallas' Cat
European Glass Lizard
(Based off the nocturnal house at the Lake Superior Zoo)

I do not think that something like Planet Aquarium or Planet Aviary is very likely. Aviaries and aquariums/fish tanks could be a feature of a Planet Zoo 2 in 3-5 years perhaps.

And I hope we will not get a cats and dogs pack. I am happy with the actual model of mixed animal families in a pack as it allows to build very different types of habitat after a release.

That was just kinda my dream Canids and Felines... I would MUCH rather having them spread out through multiple packs.... But if development ends I would beg for the remaining Canids And Felines to be released in a cats and dogs animal pack

I agree a planet aquarium and aviary just wouldn’t be enough for me

A Planet Aquarium may work, as there's been aquarium games before and there are some non-zoo aquariums. Still, it would be much preferred to have aquatic species in a zoo game. Even Prehistoric Kingdom, JWE and the old Zoo Tycoon games already had this, so having a separate aquarium game would make little sense. Planet Aviary would be even weirder as there are very few zoos that have only aviaries and no other exhibits. Aviaries, if implemented, should come in a zoo game and aquariums preferably as well.

If we don't get fully aquatic or flying species in PZ, I think there is a very good chance they save this for PZ2 which will most likely come some day. It may be the one defining feature that distinguishes both versions of the game, and it opens possibilities for new DLC packs after the most popular terrestrial animals are already in the game (assuming all animals from PZ will be in the main game of PZ2). Still, I would much prefer to have an update for PZ which introduces both features, which means it should come at the end of this year. If not, I don't expect to get any of these.

one of the things I liked about SEA is that it gave us a primate, canine, feline and ursine. I have zoos that only have those members and I like expanding them every time we get a new dlc member.
Planet Aviary I do not see happening, the only zoo that is bird exclusive that I know of in the USA is the national aviary, other then raptor centers I don’t know of any bird exclusives. I have sadly accepted that aviaries aren’t coming to PZ.
Planet aquarium I have a lot of hope for. With whatever the countdown of PZ life is I do not think fully aquatic stuff should make it’s way into game in favor of the high contenders on the meta list.

I am going to put my money on autumn dlc being a biome pack with unique biome combos similar to how wetlands went.
Therefore I think it will be a highlands, grasslands or drylands.

Also has anyone picked up any hints lately? I remember there was a leak for the aquatic animals, the sun bear and the capybara.

I think that what we will see next will probably be an encompassing biome pack (similar to how the wetlands pack wasn’t just exclusive to ‘swamps’, ‘rivers’, ‘ponds’ or ‘floodplains’). I would bet that we will see a ‘Forests Animal Pack’, encompassing all types of forest (with a focus on Rainforests and Temperate Woodlands).

I would imagine a lineup for a pack like this would be:
-Two Toed Sloth
-Elk
-Geoffroy’s Spider Monkey
-Striped Skunk
-Red River Hog
-European Bison
-Tasmanian Devil
-Panther Chameleon (E)

With the Tassie Devil now at the top of the META Wishlist, it is definitely very likely to make it into the game. The inclusions of the Spider Monkey would utilise the game’s brand new climbing structures and brachiation mechanisms, whilst the Elk would make use of the recently chorus mechanics. After the inclusion of a brachiating species in the last update (something many were very sceptical about), I don’t have any doubt that the sloth is now likely to find its way into the game sooner rather than later.

As for the other species, the Red River Hog is a very highly requested species with a formidable presence in zoos all over the world. The Striped Skunk is one of the first animals that comes to mind when I think of forests, and is not only extremely common in zoos worldwide (as well as adorable and irreplaceable) but could open the door for ambassador species becoming a thing in the game. The European Bison would be the ‘clone’ of the pack - I’ve spoken time and time again about how important their inclusion in the game would be for European wildlife and for conservation education. The Panther Chameleon would introduce another lizard species, something which the game is unfortunately lacking at the moment.

Some ‘free update’ things that could tie in with the theme of the DLC could be Adventure Playgrounds (introduced in a similar way to the recent interactive education stations) as well as some woodchips patches similar to the mulch patches already in game.

I think a pack like this would appeal to all kinds of players, as well as teaching important messages about saving the forests, conservation and unique adaptations.
