badly stuck, no way out :/

I reached the galactic ceiling, touched the Wolf Rayet star that was like jewel sitting there, spotted many fantastic locations high above and using the neutron star was easy to reach a small cluster of white dwarfs...but I miscalculated distances and right now I'm stranded in a system with a white dwarf and a few icy planets. My fuel reserve is for last escape jump, but problem is my ship is short of 1,5ly to reach nearest scoopable star :( 50% injection from dwarf ain't gonna cut it, I need 100% of boost but problem is - I'm out of Polonium. Right now I'm sitting on this icy planet where Polonium isn't even listen as a material, crushed more than 30 metallic meteorites because I was hoping that a single unit of Polonium will pop out sooner or later, but no...
So now what? Is there any way to share one unit of Polonium? because there is no other way for me get out this system. I emptied the fuel tanks to minimum to have the edge, but still not enough. I'm not going to cry, because my best discoveries where made today during the galactic ceiling trip and I can get back there and follow the same route, to get my discoveries back.

Update:
I'm on the move https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...k-no-way-out?p=7188314&viewfull=1#post7188314

What system are you in and what is your jump range? Are there any other landable bodies other than the one you are on that may have Plutonium listed?

Unfortunately, Plutonium is limited to planet side, so not in any rings, and there is not any way to share materials between commanders.

If it's fuel you're missing, you need the fuel rats help. If it's jump range, see if with more fuel from a rat you can jump to a system where you can get the polonium you need?

This is it. I lack of 1.80 ly. With more fuel in the system I'm stuck in - my range will decrease :/ I will never make that jump to neutron star. I can only jump to the neighboring dwarf and finish my journey there.
Any ideas?

Polonium in 79.51Ly system? Fuel Rats but if there's no Polonium there you might be in trouble, it can't be shared.

No cargo, all I carry is SRV. Is crashing the SRV going to help me with getting better jump range?

That's a really good question actually and I can't seem to find a definitive answer on a quick forum search. If you land and then destroy the SRV does that reduce the weight of your ship and increase its jump range? By enough??

Not in game at the moment sadly but perhaps someone could test this for you before you take such a drastic step?

I've swithed to beta, got into a docked ship, and compared an new empty hangar vs one with an srv into it and it changes nothing ...

I don't know if it helps ? maybe would it be different out on a trip instead of beeing in a station and in the live game ?

Srv doesn't effect mass and jump range of ship total, yup it's daft, plus lose the srv and no way to get polonium if there is any.

If you require more fuel than you have fine, rats could help, if the needed item is polonium then if ejected/abandoned into space/on planet surface can another ship scoop it?

I would wait until chapter four drops as you should lose about 1.3 tonnes when they combine surface scanner with disco scanner giving you another 0.3 standard jump range

But if you got rats to fill you up then SC until range reduced enough to make jump it would be doable, and yes it does work I have gotten my self stuck in the past and used the method, it takes hours if not days to travel at 2000c to reduce the range, you have to keep an eye on it and calculate your usage to distance covered and time to predict when you are getting close as you can scupper yourself in deep space.

There's a lesson here to be learned: regularly up your stock of critical materials.
Lesson that needs to be repeated, it seems (re: Macedonica's exploits 2 years ago...) ;)

Ejected materials did just disappear. Nowadays you can't even eject them.

Seems that your last chance would be looking for Raxxla in the system... Good luck Cmdr !

No, that doesn't work. If you think it worked then you just increased your range by burning off fuel and sitting stationary would have had the same effect.
