I’m also a little annoyed about this. The inbox message says it’s an option [to do Titan rescues] but it’s effectively a pointless activity outside of RP and “feel good”, yet if you go in blasting you get some preengineered SCO drives. What fun it is to not have an interest in engaging the Titan but making sure less humans blow up with it.
In the past you needed 2 mil for the sticker and kit, but contribution, yea. Just being near gets you 14k a vent.
and every one can get them for just runnning into the cloud with a sidewinder( i think)They might have added the same requirement to cause minimal damage to the core at least, as the non-CG rewards for a Titan kill.
You actually need to inflict damage on the titan for it to count for the CG
Is there a way to make sure that you have done so and thus are going to get the rewards, or is it up to hope and "we'll see"?
It should say your credit contribution, which i think equates to titan HP you removed? in the CG panel! A few missiles on the core will do you wonders hehehe
I didn't get any messages immediately after making the damage. Do you get it some times afterwards? I did get (silently) a big bounty, but no message.
I had a similar experience, did my Titan run until I was out of ammo (shards Python Mk II), turned in 113M of bonds, got ca 80K credits as my contribution. Still made top 25%. A display bug with the contribution, maybe?
More of the result of weird choice of progress metric by Frontier. It’s not credits but more like “Titan HP” which you should probably read that as.

That could be it, but it'd be a strange choice to do this for the last Titan only and for none of the previous ones. FDev works in mysterious ways!
Money! I stick with standard ammo on my Shards Python Mk II as I think it's too expensive to use all those materials for 30% extra damage. I get 18.8M credits per attack run, so I'm happy with that.
The CG progress in your ship's left panel has always had a huge delay before updates, so it usually won't show your up-to-date contributions right away.
Never encountered a delay in previous CGs but maybe I was lucky.
"Only direct damage to Titan Cocijo will count toward your contribution - combat bond value is used to track damage by each pilot, this is not a 1:1 exchange value though it is directly proportional."
