Ok... This new DLC will drop in three days. It is now confirmed:
Megalodon is
NOW in the game, along with
Microceratus AND Segisaurus (
FINALLY
)!
This new pterosaur genus came out of left field though. I like to think I'm up-to-date on my paleofauna news but
Thanatosdracon? I had to look this one up.
It's within the same family as
Quetzalcoatlus, and it came from the same formation group (Neuquén Group) as
Argentinosaurus and
Giganotosaurus (though this genus was dated around 89 to 86 million years). It's currently the largest pterosaur found from South America.
Didn't expect that on my bingo card despite everyone either wishing for or betting Hatzegopteryx was going to be in the game.
Looks like Cenozoic animals and
Hatzegopteryx.
Frankly, I think it's a good move on Frontier's part to hold off on the Cenozoic animals for the next game. They would feel out-of-place in this game now as support is wrapping up. Based on the Jurassic Wiki, Smilodon and the woolly mammoth are considered canon genera.
