Best and worst weapons

Everything else requires a good portion of a magazine to chew through a High CZ target - figure somewhere in the ballpark of 5-10 seconds.

Stop measuring weapons against the hardest encounters - that is the High CZ.

IMO:
  • Plasma weapons are quite ok-ish as they are. The low projectile speed is balancing things out pretty nice. Tormentor is the best obviously, but all of the plasma weapons have their roles and they're nice in their own way, without being really Overpowered
  • Laser weapons are so-and-so. G5 Aphelion with headshot damage is pretty nice. Same goes for Zenith. The SMG is really Meh!
  • Kinetics, again IMO, are the real losers here since they kinda struggles with shields and there is nothing that can up their damage against shields (similar to headshot for laser weapons).
The only exception is L6, but that's not a kinetic weapon, isn't it? :cool:
I have a G5 L6 with audio masking, magazine size, stowed reloading and handling and it's pure joy. I just need to be careful not to shoot them in the face while we're in the hugging distance :D

First the NPCs laugh as I paintball them, then they die 😈 All weapons should be such fun :)
I mean, you could also beat NPCs to death with a floppy dead fish.

But sure, if you feel like you need an extra handicap, use the Oppressor instead of the fish.

I’m always a fan of figuring out weapon mods (ship and handheld) that turn the weapon into something effective that’s different from the original intent.

The Intimidator plus Accuracy, Scope and Range makes a paratrooper rifle, for instance. They are likely going to fix the spread bug, but even if they do it’s still deadly.

The TK Aphelion plus Scope, Range and Headshot makes a laser sniper.

Any other fun combinations?
 
If your goal is to kill a single target that isn’t moving much use a plasma weapon (except oppressor).

if your goal is to kill lots of enemies quickly, use a Kinetic primary and the laser pistol.
 
Worst: kinetic and lazer weapons. Ship mechanic with "laser for shield, kinetic to hull" implemented to legs battle - it's just bad game design imo.
Best: plasma weapons. Only because they can bypass that wacky sort of game design.

Where is my railguns, kinetic equivalent of barret m82, beamguns and plasma rocket launchers?
 
This thread will be a classic once everyone realises how good the oppressor actually is. I give it 6 months :)

That G5 Oppressor has the following mods:
  • Headshot Damage
  • Scope
  • Extended Magazine

Even if it hits, the DPS is really bad. I tried at point blank, so no miss, and the damage wasn't there.
It's decent... but could use a some improvement.

Which mods would you recommend for the Oppressor? I G5'ed it, and it's currently empty waiting for some upgrades.
I suggest the Headshot mod at the least - it helps a little bit with the Oppressor's damage. I like having a scope on all of my weapons, so I put a Scope mod on mine; it does increase the perceived recoil, however. If you find its recoil to be too much, slap a stability mod on it.

My biggest issue is with the weapon sway, but that's not specific to just the Oppressor. Supposedly Yarden Bond has a Higher Accuracy mod that gets rid of that...

High CZs are where the most difficult enemies spawn and the absolute limits of our gear can be tested, and therefore where I can obtain some insight into what our weapons and suits can and cannot do. If not High CZs (which are very common throughout the Bubble), what should our weapons be balanced around?

The weapons should be balanced for the average playing the average.
Also in a CZ you are not alone. Keep with the team and you'd be good with basically any weapon instead of Rambo everyone alone (although i still prefer the Tormentor)

For a high CZ the Oppressor looks ok-ish.
But I'd rather be using Tormentor - Intimidator - Executioner, or Tormentor - Intimidator - L6
