Best and worst weapons

The weapons should be balanced for the average playing the average.
Won't the average player eventually obtain G5 gear, and venture into High CZs? It seems like that'd be some form of natural progression to me...

Also in a CZ you are not alone. Keep with the team and you'd be good with basically any weapon instead of Rambo everyone alone (although i still prefer the Tormentor)
There many times in CZs where you are with your team and many times where you are alone. There are also times when all your teammates die when one of them decides to drop their EMP grenade on their foot, nuke everyone's shields and get mowed down instantly, leaving you alone while staring down three angry Strikers rushing at you.

As far as I know, the "Higher Accuracy" is just the Hip Fire Accuracy mod. I have it on my Tormentor and shows in Inara as Higher Accuracy.
From what I've heard, the Hip Fire mod only improves the hip fire characteristics, not the weapon sway after sprinting.

Also - some of the listings on INARA may be incorrect. For example, the Faster Shield Regen mod is listed to increase your shield capacity by 33% on INARA, but the actual in-game mod has no mention of such an effect in the stats screen.
 
Someone with a bunch of time and mats on their hands should put Headshot Damage, Hip Accuracy and Scope on the Zenith and the Eclipse to see if you can create the Laser Pointer and the Laser Drill, respectively. Bring that shot spread down to a minimum and point it at an NPC‘s head to see what happens.

Got it on the Tormentor too with faster handling. I love the Old West vibe you get from that draw-and-shoot-from-the-hip.

It reduces the spread when firing from hip, indeed.

Yes, but the hardest encounters should be hard even with g5 equipment.
That's why i'm generally against improving weapons more than they currently are

well, atleast some of them need it.
like mentioned before. why use an Executioner when the Tormentor can do the same due to Shieldgating?
why use an Oppressor when Aphelion strips Shield and Health faster and is Hitscan?
why use Kinetics at all when you can barely strip Shields?

There is still a huge gap between "its fine" and "its barely usable".
These Guns are like...bringing a Mining Lance to destroy an Elite FDL. Does it work? Barely. Could you do it much better? Oh yes.

Since the only difficulty slider in Odyssey is bullet sponginess, High CZs are still relatively difficult even with G5 gear.

All I'm asking for with the Oppressor is a velocity buff to make it perform more as Manticore's mid-range rifle (like the AR-50 and Aphelion) and a maybe a slight increase to damage (2.4 MJ/shot to 2.99 MJ/shot). If anything I'd love a TTK reduction across the board, but I think we're in a better spot now than in the Alpha at least.

A G5 Tormentor has a minimum 3 shot kill on High CZ targets while a G5 Executioner is a two shot kill on anything in a High CZ.

Technically the Tormentor has a lower TTK, but you need to land one more shot (a headshot besides) over the Executioner's two shot kill. The Executioner will probably perform a tad more consistently for the average player than the Tormentor will.

... which is why I wrote a thread asking what the point of the Oppressor is. (Though I compared it to the AR-50... close enough I guess.)

A G5 AR-50 can remove shields ok-ish - just need an Extended Magazine mod. Definitely could be better, but it's better than the Oppressor is.

For the Oppressor, I'll agree.

I'd put a G5 AR-50 closer to "its fine" in my opinion.

The Tormentor I'd put beyond fine :p

Ok - they're not that bad. They're closer to using Small hardpoint weapons against said FDL :p
