"Best plan if your only want to fly medium and small ships?"

Where do I find this ship I don’t think I have seen it anywhere??
I simply do not spend those on anything. I have 2,5BLN in my bank, I have some engineering to do only on my ships. I happily pay for repairs and fuel for my ships so not scooping if I do not have to etc. My play style is not really about earning credits - don't get me wrong - I like those but again, I have no need to get 500mil/h...Well if most people only fly the mediums what do you spend your credits on?!? And don’t tell me the obvious answer here...

Even if it was rated as a Small would still be a cesspitBest medium ship is surely the Clipper. There's just this bug right now where it's called "large"![]()
Whut eez thees "spend your credits" uf wheech u speek??Well if most people only fly the mediums what do you spend your credits on?!? And don’t tell me the obvious answer here...
Best medium ship is surely the Clipper.
Chieftain is easy to fly but it's not more nimble than most small ships (it's not more nimble than the FDL either). If you want agile and nimble, small ships are still superior there. DBS is my favorite ship and so I should love the Chieftain because in some ways it is just a bigger DBS but anytime I undock the Chieftain it just makes me want to go back to DBS almost immediately because of the flight model. Also, if you hang around in supercruise a lot looking for targets, small ships are actually better there. I hate chugging around doing (relatively) slow loops in SC with even a FDL or Chieftain or any other agile medium ship. Or maybe DBS' insane SC mobility has spoiled me.@FullThrusters :
Yeah I think I get you. I also typically gravitate towards the light, fast, agile vehicles, both in computer games and irl (motorbikes). ^^
Provided, that is, that there's some sort of balance between them.
Unfortunately, that is not really the case in ED. In this game, generally "bigger = better" so that you are incited to always pursue the next ship.
Ironically, it tends to play out the other way round in the long run -- many newbies rush to the big ships, while advanced players often go back to the small ones looking for a greater challenge.
Small ships have basically no inherent advantage in this game, apart from being much cheaper to outfit (which becomes a non-issue pretty soon). Okay you can trim them to the absolute highest top speeds but that's recreation only. The only other - really marginal - thing that comes to mind is that Outposts have only one Medium landing pad but several Small ones, so you won't have to wait for docking clearance as often.
If it's agility and great handling you're looking for, may I direct your attention towards the Alliance Chieftain. I'd call it a Heavy Fighter. A medium-sized ship with quite a bit of tonnage, but really excellent handling -- better than the Fer de Lance, and actually more nimble than most small ships. That, plus good speed, great firepower, good armour... basically the only weakness is mediocre shields.
The Chief is intended as pure combat vessel, for instance it has three military slots (i.e. reinforcements only). But it can carry 32t of cargo no problem - actually close to 100 if you want - and still have some shielding and everything else you might need for the trader role, and it would also work as a miner I suppose. ^^
As for myself, the Chieftain is my absolute favourite ship in the game, but I use it only for combat. On second place is the Phantom which I use for basically everything else I regularly do. And lastly whenever more cargo needs to be hauled there's the Python for that. Of course I have a larger "fleet" but all other ships are basically just toys at this point -- these three can do everything I'm interested in.
Medium single ship?I almost have 0 interest in flying the larger ships. So with that being said what would be the best option actually I almost don’t want to fly the medium ships. How many small ship lines do we have like 5-8? I guess I can go through them and outfit some for running specific missions but the. What?? I really think we could have a few more small ships to add to the roster but not really sure yet... thoughts??
it can I just equipped it in one... found my ship Lmao!
It has pretty much all I need and wanted smallI love happy endings. Good one mate, the Dolphin is a fine ship, a mini-Orca. Saud Kruger is the ultimate in elegance and refinement. You've made a fine choice.
