Secondly, I'm constantly being told I don't have enough fuel to make the jump I want to make, but the Galaxy Map has no indication of fuel required. So you have to do it by trial and error. Or am I missing something?

Yeah I ran into the same thing, but it seems it's only about direct jumps. You can still make it via intermediate jumps. The UI isn't very clear about this and there's definitely a need for a little UI rework to make travels over multiple hops easier to do/plan.

Loving the visuals, but had to stop playing as I was getting a little frustrated. Will play tomorrow with a clear mind. Galaxy map is getting more cumbersome, and I don't clearly understand the fuel ranges yet.

I'm pretty impressed so far, seems to run a lot better on my machine, much smoother. I like the missions but there doesn't seem to be a way to split deliveries (ie. if you need to provide 7 items you can't do a delivery of 4 pieces then another 3 - if that's intended then it shouldn't let you accept that if you're in a Sidewinder!).

Beta-tastic

Just played for about an hour straight. Nice and stable for me. Late here though, so don't know how much other traffic was about concurrently. Looking, feeling, sounding, playing superb - love it.

I have the same issue on fuel. Tried to get to Rakanpala (I think that's what it's called) from Eranin. 13.odd light years distance. Tried to do it in several intermediate steps. Refuelled at Aulin Enterprise but still wasn't allowed to make the jump due to needing more than 0.7 tonnes of fuel... However the distance from Aulin Enterprise to Rakanpala is only 6.58 LY. Something not quite right there I think.

Otherwise, totally loved it, so immersive. FD, you've done an incredible job to get here. Thank you.

Played a bit and this build is much more unstable than PB1. Lots of spinning ships of doom, disappearing stations, slowness getting in/out of hyperspace, etc.

Something that I experienced a lot and that I thought was solved was not getting a docking authorization.

Just had to call it a night...Getting used to all the keys ....No problems so far..
Did a few dockings which went fine ....but lining up the landing pad... not pretty sometimes :)

All in all loving it ...Great stuff FD !!

Servers are collapsed, so you may see some problems caused by network errors.

Just started playing the download and im speachless at how much more awsome things have become! thnx guys

oh and I especialy love the new booste sound!

Re the Galaxy Map, I agree the fuel required / plotting of routes is a little difficult to get my head around, certain information seems to be missing.

Not sure why I cant jump to certain systems, Im guessing not enough fuel to do it, but could be better detailed.

My main bugbear with the map, is that HORRIBLE bright mess that makes up the galactic center.

In Alpha, it was a beautiful array of stars (see my YT Alpha Gameplay video and skip to the 'my god its full of stars' part), now its a blinding white light.

I really hope this isnt by design, as I think its one of the few missteps FD have made.

Apart from the above though. and a few AI glitches here and there, this thing is turning into a very, VERY beautiful game (not just graphically), I cant get my head around what a jump from PB to Beta has been.

When FD said it was going to be a huge update, they werent wrong.

Just got done playing for now - had an awesome time but I'm really baffled by some of the missions...

How the heck am I supposed to find the 'Pirate Lord' with zero location information?! Are these missions all local unless otherwise specified? Do I hang around checking out USS's (I don't know if that's the official abbreviation for Unidentified Signal Sources or not...)? Do I simply meander through whichever star systems take my fancy until a) I miraculously stumble upon my quarry amidst the fathomless depths or b) the mission timer runs out and I forget about it and buy a hauler to trade with instead?

Other than that, awesome game, I'm certainly looking forwards to having a play when I've got a clear head tomorrow evening!

Good job FD and good night, all!

Got to bed 11:00 Pm (should have waited 15 minutes longer it seems). Set the alarm 04:00 AM, currently upgrading (sync files) and passing the time reading this thread with the HUGE change log.

APPRECIATED. Good work FD.

it finally came through :D AMAZING list of updates and bug fixes, WAHOOOOOO

Now well, I went up earlier (4am) to launch update, it's now past 5am, over 50% done.... and I have to go to work in 30 minutes... I won't see it until evening then :(

See you tonight, commanders!

@wolverine2710: whilst waiting, some vids are on Youttube already !! :D :D :D

Thanks FD for all the hard work

Query, my upgrade is still running, 0,02MB/s
It also took an all nighter with PB install
Is it my ISP? or Frontier servers?
Seems to be running faster during night time...

Oh yea, living in South Africa
