Edward, what's further schedule for these changes? This evening, tomorrow? I think I can play now despite not having stars, but black screen bug feels bummer for other people.
Can't get to Online or Solo. Getting the spinning ship or black screen.
You can also look when you get the black screen, the network log grows in size rapidly. Mine was 2.4GB when trying once in a matter of minutes with the black screen.
Yep. I deleted mine at close to a GB.

is ok to delete the netlog file if they're going to be that big! and restart..? if so where is it please ?
I suspect the extra logging was turned on to help track down the problem with the black screen and that once they have a fix they will push it out to us.

Now galaxy is properly placed in skybox, however stars are still not visible

Galaxy map now works, so yay.
Unfortunately the skybox is still showing me as 200,000ly outside the galaxy.
Also the constant "can't connect to server" persists.
EDIT:
Creepy. Just crashed and restarted. The galaxy is now correctly placed in the skybox. No stars though.

Still not working on this end, haven't been able to join one game since the update, I have no issues with scenarios, but solo and online both give me the one second sidewinder crash.
2.01 download...
Very quick look, and will try again later tonight.
- Did not get the splash screen hang I was having before
- Tried to get into Solo, and got server connection error
- Lots of hitting OK to return to main menu, which it did eventually
- Tried again, and worked and got in
- Still got a noticeable hang opening the galaxy map
- However, galaxy map is now fixed and showing properly for me (yayy)
- One quick jump... minor hang on exiting s/c, otherwise good
- Noticed frame rate drop after I had alt-tabbed to desktop and back
- Exiting game still hangs, and needs to be killed from task manager

More testing later
I have been able to join solo play just once(2.01) and it seemed to work fine as long I was in the hangar.Then I went to surface and I could see no orbital station:just the building immediately in front of me(without textures) and outer space.Very trippy.
I could catch a glimpse of the system map and new menus and rewarding missions(23k to kill 8 federation ships!).The problem with excessive brightness persists.
Hopefully we'll be able to play a stable build soon!

Erm, that's all very well and good, but what about the huge number of us who can't even get the game to start. How are we supposed to Beta test if we can't start the game. My patience is running out now unfortunately
Do you know what Beta testing means? If you can't, uninstall it and wait for the final release...
Guys at Frontier are working their *ss off right now to get it working. Do you have any idea of the complexity of it all? Its not like you will catch Ebola waiting a couple of hours more.
Exactly, same here- scenarios work, but blank screen or sidewinder when trying solo or not.
Just want to reiterate how thankful the team is that you guys are so passionate about playing and testing this beta. The game literally wouldn't happen without you. The problems you're all coming across are frustrating, but that's all part of beta testing!

Just think of how much moaning would be going on if they hadn't released the first patch
So here's an interesting one....
My latest net log is 156Meg and when I try to open it notepad hangs and becomes unresponsive...any other text doc opens fine, just the net log one that crashes notepad.
Relevant?
