Most interesting little bits for me here:

- Meta file adjustment so that the L4 LODs render though the background sphere - i.e, we can now see stations for miles and miles!
- Implement the '+' sign to the list of hardpoints, if there is things to buy for that slot
- Added option to cancel a docking request

and what does this...

- Remove the fixed planet/system scale and instead show a dynamic range based on a two minute time horizon at your current speed.

..mean?

Any idea what this one in particular means?

- AI only spawn either legal cargo, which is chosen from the exports from the main market in the current system, or illegal cargo, which is cargo that is banned in the current system
At a glance, it would seem to indicate you're setting up the player to get fined, intentionally, for accepting a banned-cargo mission? :D Or is this not for missions, and related to what AI ships are carrying?
 
Actually, when my friend was showing me the game I said "Are the bobbleheads only for backers or everyone? Because I need the bobblehead, no bobblehead is a deal breaker!" He assured me everyone gets one. Now this. Betrayal! :eek:

My daughter has spent the last fortnight looking in the shops for a Christmas tree bobble-head 'just like the one Dad has in Elite'. Shame to see them go.

I'm guessing they are being temporarily removed to address the major issues they are causing with network speeds and framerate drops when looking at them 'closely' :)
 
we don't want mining, full scope or anyting in beta 3..
We just want bubble heads and a radio..
join the "bubble head and cheap radios in all spaceship" movement
We demand it Now !!
 
The bobbleheads are not going to be gone people.. relax. If anything it'll be re-added for gamma/final with a lot more to choose from and even some to buy.
 
- Double faction choice range to 20000 so the player doesnt lose the choice of sides if they fly out 10000

This should be at least quintupled.

I've wound up over 132km from the nav point in protracted chases with other CMDRs.

You know those mission-types that say "Fetch X, and it must be stolen?"... well that just got a lot easier, if I read this right.

- Flight model tweaks
- Change default transverse/reverse speed caps to 80/60% rather than 60/40.
- speed bleed does not occur in FAOff unless you're above your 4-pip speed, but occurs uniformly above that.
- Turn rotation damping off in FAOff if you're above current-pip speed.

That's interesting....
 
I have trolled the impressive list and can find no where any mention of the net code . Disappointing, all these updates and fixes that will come to nothing in multiplayer mode because the net code is totally unusable. One can but dream that it will get fixed / removed / changed in another update before release.

Oh well Solo play should be a laugh anyway. Where's my mining laser.
