Mass-Lock exists for 3.5km, multiple Ships with a Heavy amongst them will extend that to 4.5km (with reference to the heavy, i.e. Anaconda, Corvette or Cutter).
-> learn the Mass-lock tables, so you know in advance (at the moment of Interdiction) what your best escape plan will be and execute it instantly

A select few NPCs still carry modded Equipment - such as modded Weapons and Thrusters.
In any similar Ship type encounter - don't expect to be able to reach 3.5km by Boosting (unless you run nicely modded Thrusters, then you can at least try).

Chaff works great to take the heat off from Gimbal Weapons.
-> but beware that many high-tier NPCs will use Plasma Accelerators
--> don't go a straight line, or you'll soak all of those up

No later than recognizing that re-entry to SuperCruise is impossible (can't reach 3.5km), immediately cancel FSD for SuperCruise and Hyperjump to any System within Range instead -> fixed 15 sec timer applies, no Mass-lock.

This is just another example of where the game fails miserably.

Unless your willing to trawl the net and Google for hours players will never understand the actual way the game works.

The manual is out of date, the basic tutorials are useless and the YouTube tutorials barely scratch the surface of the game.

They upgrade the Station outfitting and mission screens but don't update the manuals or tutorials to explain what the actual numbers or panels mean.

I have over 300 hours in the game and there's still loads of bits I don't understand.

It's such a failure on their part to actually explain the game to players.

I mean a few basic intro missions for new players would be a start....

Yup...Same exact thing happening to me in my AspE. I am not even trying to fight, but I can't seem to get away (or even out of range of them!). NPCs have OP weapons and pin-point accuracy when firing them.
